Nintendo officially acknowledged the long-rumored Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake and even capped off its big June Direct with a short teaser. We know the game is real, we know it is scheduled to release this year, but we haven’t seen any gameplay or official confirmation on the price from Nintendo. But if a recent leak is indeed the real thing, retailers are already listing the game at a lower price than what I think most folks would expect.
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake price leaks
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake price has leaked online. And by leaked, I mean Play-Asia, a well known, albeit still sort of niche, game retailer is already taking pre-orders for the game without even knowing its actual release date.
While the listing does not mention a release date, it does have the price, one much lower than I think most folks might have expected – it is apparently already taking pre-orders on the The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake at $59.99 USD.

Mario Kart World released at $80, Donkey Kong Bonanza launched at $70 – the new industry standard for AAA console games – and I think just about everyone expected what is arguably the most anticipated Switch 2 game to date to land somewhere in that range. I personally still think it will, and a Play-Asia pre-order listing is a far cry from confirmation, but you never know.

It is a remake after all, and Nintendo has been rather generous with pricing when it comes to recent releases and delivering a lower list for digital copies in some cases (especially with the way things are going in the game industry, and just about every other industry at this point), but something still feels wrong about a $60 price tag on Ocarina of Time.
We are talking about one of the most beloved titles in history on any platform, set in one of the most popular IPs of all time, and what will almost certainly be Nintendo’s big holiday release for its still brand new console platform – this thing would almost have to be at least $69.99, no?
Are the rumors of Nintendo splitting the experience into parts across multiple releases like the Final Fantasy VII remake coming true here? Is that why the price is so low? Is Play-Asia just making the price up hoping to secure early pre-orders before anyone else?
We do not know and have not heard any particularly reliable insider details on this one just yet.
