GameStop might have just leaked the Zelda Ocarina of Time remake pre-order date

This year’s big Switch 2 game release, at least for many folks, is the now confirmed The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time remake. Nintendo has said it is coming this year, but it has yet to show us any gameplay or provide a release date. However, GameStop might have just leaked the pre-order date.

While it has since taken it down, GameStop reportedly updated The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time remake with an early August pre-order date, as spotted by a number of eagle-eyed gamers and shared to various sub Reddits and elsewhere on the net.

The official GameStop listing for the game and, subsequently, the Google search result for it, no longer provide a date, it appears as though both (or perhaps just the search result) did mention what appeared to be either a release date or, more likely, a pre-order date of August 4, 2026:

Ocarina of Time – Nintendo Switch 2. This is currently not available online. Release Date 08/04.2026 PRE-ORDER BONUS.

Here are a few images pulled from Reddit with this message:

We, of course, cannot corroborate any of this and it wouldn’t be the first time a retailer outed the wrong release/pre-order date, but there is a chance this is the real thing.

We are yet to hear anything solid along these lines from any of the major Nintendo leakers and one would assume there would be a big Direct to coincide or, more likely, announce the release date, and the Direct dates (as of late) usually leak to some degree well ahead of time.
