The new Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass expansion and the new FREE content update for folks who already own the game are going live today. The previously announced content updates for the Pokémon experience are finally ready for prime time alongside this morning’s Switch 2 console discounts ahead of the upcoming price hike.
While it’s certainly not the first look at gameplay or the release date for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake we are all waiting for, fans of the Pokémon Pokopia social sim experience are in for some new content today.
First up, the previously announced Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass action kicks off with Part 1: Bubbly Basin.
The new Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass is now available for purchase at $34.99 – this purchase gets you access to Bubbly Basin and all upcoming additions. Part 2 is scheduled for release in late 2026, part 3 is coming in 2027.
The additional content from the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass DLC will be released in three parts, but one purchase gets you access to everything.
Bubbly Basin is the first drop for the paid Pokopia Expansion Pass, allowing players to explore a town beneath the sea known as Bubbly Basin.
“In this submerged space,” players can craft “buildings which float at different levels underwater using buoyant blocks and receive help from Pokémon with the Generate specialty to power bubble machines or activate streetlights. Players can also grow watermelons with the assistance of Pokémon with the Water specialty.” You’ll find new outfits, new furniture, more Pokémon, and a “power-up for the move Surf.”

The new Expansion Pass is also joined by the Pokémon Pokopia Version 2.0.0 Free Software Update. As the name suggests, this is completely FREE content for all owners of the game, delivering the Mythical Water-type Pokémon Manaphy and the ability to learn the new Dive move. “With Dive, players can expand their underwater exploration, swim with Water-type Pokémon, and build underwater structures.”
