After a brief teaser earlier this year, LEGO has finally officially unveiled its new Super Mario sets at gamescom 2026, including the very first Mushroom Kingdom minifigures.
LEGO officially unveils first Super Mario minifigure sets
While Mario and friends have been around in brick-built from for quite a long time now, it has taken until right now for LEGO and Nintendo to deliver proper Mario minifigures – up until now the actual characters have only been available in large-scale LEGO builds.
The new LEGO minifigures mark a refreshed LEGO Super Mario theme, newly centred on creative LEGO minifigure roleplay action. The news that minifigures will now form part of the LEGO Super Mario range was first teased as part of MAR10 Day celebrations earlier in the year across social media channels, alongside the news that the sets were coming in 2027.
Alongside the 850-piece Fire Mario & Bowser’s Castle as well as the 409-piece Bowser’s Rumbling Race, the first batch of Super mini figure sets are largely smaller builds, but this first wave of sets does indeed include minifigs for Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Koopa Troopa, Bowser Jr., Peach, and Toad.
