While we all eagerly await the rumored announcement of the September Nintendo Direct, we are also coming to realize this will be the first month without a single first-party Switch 2 release. Now clearly Hollow Knight: Silksong just broke the internet for a short time when it released last week, the eShop included, and that is frankly more than enough to keep most gamers busy all month long, but there are a host of other third-party games that have already and are still to land in September for Switch and Switch 2. 

After being leaked several months ago, with early renders surfacing online thereafter, LEGO has now officially confirmed the upcoming LEGO Star Trek set(s). Taking to its official Instagram feed this morning, LEGO has posted a short teaser video with a look at what has to be a Captain Picard minifig and text reading Coming Soon in Klingon.

This year’s IFA event in Berlin has already given us many new tech reveals, with a bunch of robotic lawn mowers showcased amongst them, but there’s one that is standing out amongst the crowd with its very unique concept design. Coming from MOVA’s sub-brand, NexLawn, we’ve been introduced to the Master X Series Concept, described as “the first robotic mower with a fully functional mechanical arm.” What’s more, this arm isn’t being planned to limit itself only to mowing-related jobs, with more versatility thanks to interchangeable attachments – including pet interactions too! The biggest thing in gaming releases soon, very soon. And it’s an indie game. The long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong is finally here, or will be in well under 24 hours now, as developer Team Cherry has confirmed the release times for the game alongside the shocking $20 price of entry.

Microsoft has just unleashed three brand-new special edition controllers – Heart Breaker, Ice Breaker, and Storm Breaker. The world’s most famous secret agent is set to make a triumphant return in AAA console game form soon, and Sony is set to deliver a lengthy gameplay blowout for the new 007 First Light this afternoon. We have already seen some relatively brief glimpses of gameplay as well as the reveal trailer, but nothing quite like we are in for today.

The previously leaked LEGO SEGA Genesis Controller is official. The brick built gamepad made headlines just over a week ago when low res images were leaked online, but the set has now officially been revealed.

After many years of waiting, we are now only 5 days away from the release of the most highly-anticipated indie game (maybe ever) – Hollow Knight: Silksong. We finally know when the game will launch and even got a new trailer recently with a decent look at the game, but we still don’t know the price of it – unless a recent GameStop listing that surfaced is be to believed. 

It’s been an exciting summer of massive LEGO releases and new reveals, and hot on the heels of the previous unveiling of LEGO’s Icons Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Ship, the LEGO Group is bringing us a look at the next Ideas set that is inspired by another movie franchise – and one of my favorite Christmas movies – the 21361 Gremlins: Gizmo set. Nintendo has officially announced the launch of the first-ever Animal Crossing x Crocs collaboration, and everything is now available for purchase. While it might not be the Switch 2 Animal Crossing game we are all waiting for after rumors/leaks went live, these Animal Crossing Crocs clogs and Jibbitz seem like a perfect way to bring your island to life. 

A new report has surfaced claiming Nintendo will indeed host the next Nintendo Direct in the coming weeks. The Switch 2 has officially launched and has taken over the charts, and still we have not gotten a proper, full-on Nintendo Direct showcase since. But it looks like that’s about to change, and very soon now. 

The new summer LEGO reveals just keep coming, and now, a few days after we got the announcement of the new Ideas 21360 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory set, we’re getting another movie staple in the form of LEGO’s new Icons 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Ship. Putting aside the missed opportunity to name it for what it is – The Black Pearl – this is a highly detailed rendition of the iconic ship and comes with plenty of characters you’d expect to populate it. This better be real. Just after the new LEGO Game Boy went up for pre-order, and just ahead of its official release this fall, a new LEGO SEGA Genesis controller has surfaced online. There has been no official announcement as of yet, but imagery and details on a new LEGO Genesis gamepad have leaked online. 

The gamescom 2025 action rolls on today with hours (days) of Bethesda action. The Bethesda live streams will take place on Twitch and span throughout the day today and right through weekend. Rumor has it, after a “TBC” listing was spotted on its gamescom schedule recently, we might get a new game reveal as part of the event, and perhaps even the announcement of a new Fallout remake.

Creator Masahiro Sakurai hosted a dedicated Kirby Air Riders Nintendo Direct today to give us our very first look at gameplay from the upcoming Switch 2 title, and that he very much did. We got a lengthy look at just about every aspect of the experience, from the rider roster and a good look at the courses, the City Trial mode, riding machine details, and a whole a lot more. But we also got the official release date.
