The annual Pokémon Presents is now set in stone for this Friday, and it should be a big one. Not only does it land on Pokémon Day (February 27) but this year’s showcase also marks the 30th anniversary of the original Gen 1 Pokémon Red and Blue and things have already kicked off with a bang. 

It’s Pokémon Day 2026 and the reveals are coming in fast. The new Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen for Switch and Switch 2 is now live on the eShop and we just our first look at the brand new mainline Pokémon Winds and Waves games for Nintendo Switch 2. But alongside a host of other updates and announcements in today’s Pokémon Presents, we also confirmation and details on the next game coming to the GameCube Nintendo Classics library – Pokémon XD Gale of Darkness! 

It is officially Pokémon Day 2026 and the 30th anniversary Pokémon Presents just wrapped up with a bang – the Pokémon Winds and Waves has officially been revealed! Check out the first look trailer below.

Nintendo officially kicked off the 2026 Pokémon Day festivities last week by announcing the launch of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen on Switch consoles. Now, a week after that announcement went live, they are now live on the Nintendo eShop. You can head to this link right here and load it up on your Switch or Switch 2.

Pokémon Day 2026 has officially arrived and we are in for a special 30th anniversary Pokémon Presents showcase this morning. The Pokémon Company officially revealed that it would be hosting a special live stream event on February 27 and it kicks off very soon.

This is it folks, we are less than 24 hours out from the big-time 30th anniversary Pokémon Day celebrations. We have already had some exciting announcements, product reveals, and more ahead of the official date, so let the countdown begin!

Pokémon Day 2026 is tomorrow, and with this year being a major 30th anniversary milestone for the pocket monster franchise, the reveals, new products, and announcements have already begun. Alongside the Walmart Pokémon Week event, the new Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen for Switch and Switch 2, coming LEGO sets, and more, eBay has also announced a special 30/30 Collection event that will, apparently, be showcasing and auctioning off some of the most sought-after and iconic pocket monster collectibles at the “original retail price.” 

Pokémon Day is tomorrow folks, and it’s already set to be a big one! This year marks the 30th anniversary of the very first Pokémon Red and Blue games, we already have the official release of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, all-new gameplay for the upcoming Pokémon Pokopia, and tomorrow’s Pokémon Presents on the schedule, but there’s much more to come. A pair of upcoming Switch 2 games are going on full display today as Nintendo is set to host nearly hour an half-long live stream to showcase Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park and, just in time for Pokémon Day, the new Pokémon Pokopia. 

Just after the announcement of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen for Switch and Switch 2, Nintendo has now scheduled lengthy showcase set to deliver nearly an hour and half of gameplay for the new Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park as well as a closer deep dive look at Pokémon Pokopia ahead of the next Pokémon Presents on Friday. 

Nintendo is kicking off the Pokémon 30th anniversary in a big way today with the announcement of Pokémon Blue and Pokémon Red for Switch. Or more specifically the remakes of those Gen 1 games that originally released on Game Boy Advance – Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen. But what’s new in the Switch versions? Are Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen coming to Switch Online? Are there specific Switch 2 Editions? Let’s dive in below.

Now just one week away from the 2026 Pokémon Day festivities, the official anniversary Pokémon Presents show has been announced, and today Nintendo is helping to kick things off early with the announcement that Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version are releasing on Nintendo Switch very soon.  

As we reported previously, Virtual Boy is set to make its debut in the Nintendo Classics library today, and it appears it is now live for Switch Online + Expansion Pack members.

The official Super Mario Galaxy Movie toys and collectibles are now up for pre-order. The sequel is set to hit the silver screen in early April and a series of the official Jakks Mario Galaxy Movie toys are now available for pre-purchase ahead of the launch starting from $5 at Amazon and Walmart. 

Nintendo has just launched its My Mario collection in the US, which was originally introduced in Japan. The My Mario product line has been designed as an easy introduction to the Mario world for very young kids through toys, apparel, books, and simple digital experiences. I was able to get an exclusive hands-on with the entire product line and was even able to bring my four-year-old daughter to see what she thought of these new toys. The My Mario line was built around letting parents and kids explore and play together using iconic characters like Mario, Luigi, Peach, and so many more. Here is what you should know.

We were lucky enough to attend a private hands-on Nintendo event to try out the new Mario Tennis Fever, among other things. You can scope out the details in our video coverage below, but Nintendo has also just released the game’s opening cinematic to get you hyped to hit the court later this week. 

A couple weeks ago we got our first good look at the new Super Mario Galaxy Movie after the world premiere trailer landed late last year. We also got our first official look at Yoshi and now Nintendo and Illumination have just uploaded another new quick look at the upcoming galactic Mario adventure. 

Nintendo hosted its first Partner Showcase Direct this morning with a series of updates and announcements. While we now have official confirmation of a host of Bethesda tiles landing on Switch 2 after around a year of speculation – Fallout 4, Elder Scrolls Oblivion, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, included – it also quickly reminded folks about the Hollow Knight – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack. 

Nintendo officially confirmed this week’s Nintendo Direct showcases yesterday, and it is set to go live this morning. Rumors and predictions pointed at an official livestream hitting the airwaves in the first week of February and that it very much is, with a full 30-minutes of updates on upcoming Switch and Switch 2 games. 

Rumor had it we would be getting the next Nintendo Direct this week, and Nintendo has now confirmed as much. The next Nintendo Direct will go live tomorrow at the usual time. Details below. 

While we await the next title to land in the coveted GameCube library, and just after getting a chance to get an early hands-on look at the new Virtual Boy, Nintendo has just officially revealed a Switch Online February 2026 update with a pair of new additions to the Game Boy library. 

Update: The new Virtual Boy hardware is now available for purchase directly from Nintendo for Switch Online members. “This product can be purchased by those who have a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership. To play games in the Virtual Boy – Nintendo Classics, you will need an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. The Nintendo Switch Lite is not compatible.”

During today’s lengthy Nintendo Direct, we did not get any updates on the Switch Online GameCube library, but Nintendo did officially announce Virtual Boy! It is ready to add an entirely new console to its Nintendo Classics collection in the form of the ultra-retro Virtual Boy library alongside an actual Virtual Boy peripheral you stick your Switch or Switch 2 inside of. Details below.

Right on the heels of the Super Mario Galaxy Movie Direct from last weekend with our fist look at Yoshi and some new details ahed of the April release, an official announcement was made for another Nintendo Direct stream and it is set to go live this morning. 

While this weekend was all about the Super Mario Galaxy Movie Nintendo Direct and getting our first look at Yoshi, not to mention the new Talking Flower going up for pre-order via Amazon at $35, this week it’s Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. Nintendo has announced the next Direct livestream and it is set to go live in a few day’s time. 

Here we go! Nintendo is set to host a Sunday edition Direct presentation this morning for the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy Movie and it’s set to go live very soon.

Alongside the new overview trailer for Nintendo’s adorable Talking Flower collectible from Super Mario Bros. Wonder, we are also getting some details on the actual game itself. We already knew the Switch 2 edition and an expansion were on the way this spring, but Nintendo has debuted a new trailer and announced the official release date alongside some special edition amiibo too. 

Nintendo officially revealed The Super Mario Galaxy Movie as part of the 40th anniversary Mario Bros. celebration last year. After that, it served up the world premiere trailer, and it has now announced an official Super Mario Galaxy Movie Nintendo Direct!

As part of the Mario Bros. 40th anniversary, Nintendo announced an upcoming expansion for Super Mario Bros. Wonder that is set to release sometime this spring, but it is also releasing a physical collectible known as Talking Flower too. Today it launched an overview trailer for its adorable new Talking Flower, serving up some details on some of its (sort of) smart capabilities and a release date – pre-orders are set to go live today. 

Fans of the brick-built Mushroom Kingdom world are already very familiar with the LEGO Mario Kart: Mario & Standard Kart set. It debuted last year shortly before the new Mario Kart World landed for Switch 2, and now LEGO appears to have just teased an upcoming Luigi Mario Kart set. 

Donkey Kong has been back in the spotlight with a triumphant showing in the new 3D Bananza game, but last year Nintendo unleashed Donkey Kong Country Returns HD and it has now launched a FREE update for Switch and Switch 2.

Nintendo has just official revealed Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition with a series of upgraded features specifically for the new console, as well as a FREE update coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons for Nintendo Switch. 

Nintendo has had a busy week with the launch of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance on the Switch 2 GameCube library, the debut of the new My Mario toys and collectibles, and the new purple/light green Switch 2 Joy-Con, but it’s time for some deals. It has now officially launched the first new eShop sale of 2026 as the Supercharge event goes into to full force today with discounts on AAA third-parties, some wonderful indie games, and even some first-party Switch titles. A new year has arrived and a new set of official Joy-Con for your Switch 2 have as well. This morning, in the official Nintendo Today! app, Nintendo has given us our first look at a set of new Switch 2 Joy-Con with the purple/light green treatment. 

The next Nintendo Switch 2 GameCube release has been revealed! After dropping Wario World into its GameCube Nintendo Classics back in December, Nintendo is injecting the collection with one of the more highly-anticipated titles from the GameCube library – Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance.

Last summer Nintendo revealed a new set of Mario toys for the Japanese market under its new My Mario moniker, and it has now announced it is coming to the U.S.

It has been a bit of a sleepy start to the year for Nintendo so far, but now, just 8 days into 2026, it is ramping things up with the reveal of a new set of Joy-Con 2 as well as the official, overview trailer for the new Mario Tennis Fever.

Nintendo has now unveiled the next GameCube game coming to Switch 2 via its Switch Online Nintendo Classics library – Wario World – and it’s playable right now. 

Nintendo has now officially the next games set to land in its Nintendo 64 Switch Online library. While many folks are really waiting on the next Game Cube additions, Nintendo is turning back to its N64 library this month to introduce a pair of classic 3D polygonal platformers (and they are going live every soon). 

The Nintendo Black Friday deals are in full swing now with solid 50% price drops across loads of physical Switch games, a solid eShop Cyber sale, and new all-time low pricing on some of he 2025 amiibo releases, but we are taking a quick break to take a look at some new Nintendo Classics NES and Game Boy titles this morning. 

While it’s been all about the new Super Mario Galaxy Movie as of late, Nintendo did confirm its live-action Zelda film earlier this year before announcing the actors set to personify its titular princess and the Hero of Light this past summer. However, up until now, we were yet see any images from the film or the set – Nintendo just unleashed the very visuals of Zelda and Link from the film. 

The next major Nintendo Switch 2 release is quickly approaching with the long-awaited Metroid Prime 4: Beyond set to land early next month. Now just under 3 weeks from launch, and just after Nintendo unleashed the recent Nintendo Switch 2 Edition – Survive trailer we featured, a brand new Metroid Prime 4 Overview trailer has just released on the Nintendo Today! App – we are assuming it will be up on its YouTube and X channels very soon (if it isn’t already). 

After several months of leaks and rumors, Nintendo finally confirmed the name of the next Mario film – The Super Mario Galaxy Movie – and today it will debut the very first trailer. While we got a quick snippet in Title Announcement trailer as part of the Mario 40th anniversary bonanza, the celebration continues this morning as Nintendo is set to host a dedicated Nintendo Direct just Mario’s next appearance on the silver screen.
