We now have the official details for the annual MAR10 Mario Day celebrations. Every year on March 10, Nintendo celebrates its most famous character with sales on games, special activities, console bundles, and 2023 is no exception. Last year’s event delivered on some serious Switch game deals (Mario titles and otherwise), Mario Kart Home Circuit, a range of third-party gaming accessories, toys, and LEGO kits, just for starters and Nintendo has now taken to its official site to announce what folks can expect this year. Well, the day has finally arrived and the first major Nintendo Direct of 2023 is just minutes away from beginning. After rumors suggested we would be seeing the first Nintendo Direct of the year this week, it was officially confirmed yesterday morning when Nintendo took to its Twitter feed to announce today’s 5 p.m. ET start time. The show is about to start in just a few minutes from now so get ready and follow along down below. 

Update: Rare has now revealed that GoldenEye 007 is also landing on Xbox Game Pass the same day as Switch Online, January 27, 2023. Details are down below.  

We now have an official release date for GoldenEye 007 on Nintendo Switch Online. Back in September of last year, Nintendo started the hype train after announcing the beloved and iconic James Bond FPS from the N64 days would be making a triumphant return on its Switch Online platform. Shortly thereafter, Rare (the game’s original developer) announced it would also be making its way to the Xbox online service, but there were no release dates in sight at the time. All of that changes this morning. 

Nintendo took to its official Twitter feed late yesterday evening to announce the next batch of new SEGA Switch Online titles. In its efforts to continually bring additional value to the more expensive Expansion Pass Switch Online library that delivers both N64 and Genesis titles on-demand to subscribers (alongside other perks like the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe booster courses that were just expanded), some notable new Genesis classics have arrived. The next Nintendo Direct showcase starts now with the latest Indie World presentation. Following September’s exciting prime time event where we finally got the official name for the upcoming Zelda title, news of GoldenEye heading to the Switch Online library, confirmation of Pikmin 4, and more, today we are in for 25 straight minutes of upcoming indie titles landing on Switch throughout the rest of the year and beyond. While it might not be the GoldenEye 007 update you were hoping for, Nintendo has now announced Mario Party for Switch Online. Now scheduled to land on Switch Online starting early next month, Nintendo is bringing both of the original Mushroom Kingdom party games to its membership service to enjoy with friends and family over the holidays. The next Nintendo Direct showcase is scheduled to kick off right now with fresh looks at the best new Switch games. Today we are getting our first good look at the new Nintendo Switch console known as the OLED Model Splatoon 3 Edition. While technically just a themed version of the latest hybrid machine from the brand, the new Nintendo Switch console will be splashing down come early August just before the matching Splatoon 3 Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and Nintendo Switch Splatoon 3 Edition Carrying Case. While we await the rumored Game Boy library, Nintendo added some new titles to the Switch Online game list. This time around it is the base-tier Super Nintendo library that is seeing some new games in the form of three special edition versions of some classic SNES Kirby titles. The latest in the Kirby series, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, hit the Switch library back in March to positive critical reviews just before Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards landed on the N64 Switch Online game list, but subscribers of Nintendo’s online service can now enjoy SP versions of Kirby Super Star, Kirby’s Dream Land 3, and Kirby’s Dream Course. Nintendo took to its official Twitter feed to announced Kirby 64 for Switch Online. After Kirby’s latest adventure to the Forgotten Land received solid reviews while delivering the titular character’s first true jump into three dimensions, Nintendo will be dishing up a chance for its Expansion tier subscribers to revisit the N64-era Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards via its online service later this month. Now that Switch Sports is out in the wild, it’s time to turn our attention to the new Mario Strikers Battle League ahead of its launch next month. The next big sports outing for the Mushroom Kingdom has Mario and friends taking the pitch in Nintendo’s latest themed soccer title. Centered around what sounds like a version of European football Nintendo has invented known as Strike, it is described as a “soccer-like sport with no rules” where players do whatever it takes to win.
