8Bitdo brings retro gaming to iOS, Android, Mac and more with its NES Bluetooth controller

nes30-8bitdo-bluetoothNext-gen consoles and supped up PCs are producing beautiful games, but they can’t replace the sense of nostalgia felt by booting up your favorite retro game. 8Bitdo is attempting to recapture that feeling by bringing to market a Bluetooth version of the original Nintendo Entertainment System controller. Other than two additional two buttons and a couple design tweaks, Nes30 was built to mimic the look and feel of the official Nintendo controller…

As of right now, the NES30 is compatible with iOS, Android, PC, Mac, and Wii, but promises support for other platforms through future firmware upgrades. It supports four different gaming styles, including touchscreen simulation, so you can choose which method fits your style of play and device best. Please note that you will need to jailbreak your iOS device or root your Android device to take advantage of some advanced features.

The NES30 works great with standard App Store games, but really stokes nostalgia if you pair it with your favorite emulator. It even has multi-player support so you can game against one other friend on the same iDevice or against three other friends on a Wii. Auto-sleep mode will help to prolong its battery, which is estimated at 20 hours. You can even connect it via USB if your device doesn’t support Bluetooth.

It carries a list price of $39.99, but 8Bitdo points U.S buyers to this eBay page where it can be had for a couple bucks less. We recommend checking out this helpful user guide if you have any questions regarding setup or compatibility for this little slice of the 1980’s. (via Engadget)
