Believe it or not, Black Friday 2017 is just over a week away. And as we’ve tracked over the last several days, just about all the big retailers have showcased their upcoming discounts in hopes of exciting shoppers before the highly-anticipated event. Now we’re placing our attention on smart home gear to make sure you get the best bang for your buck when outfitting your house with the latest smartphone and voice-controlled gadgets.

Smart home tech looks to have some of the most notable discounts across retailers for Black Friday 2017. We’re noticing significant price drops and deals from retailers like Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart on smart speakers, lights and more. We’ve sifted through the different ads to gather all the best deals on everything you need to either start or expand your smart home:

Smart Speakers and Digital Assistants |

Controlling your home with your smartphone gets the job done more often than not, but having a dedicated virtual assistant makes it easier than ever to change the temperature, set the mood with some ambient lighting or play music. If you still haven’t picked up a smart speaker, now is definitely the time, with prices dropping across the board.

Following its recent refresh, we’re seeing the one of the first discounts on the second generation Amazon Echo which is down to $80 at Amazon, Meijer, Newegg and Whole Foods. If you’ve been eyeing up the Echo Plus, you’ll be able to pick that up at a $30 discount for $120 as well. Finally at just $30, the Amazon Echo Dot will be dropping to the lowest we’ve tracked for it.

If you’re less keen on Amazon’s ecosystem, the Google Home and its Mini add-on are both receiving notable discounts comes next week. In terms of the former, just about everywhere from Home Depot to Walmart is offering the Google Home for $79. The recently released Google Home Mini will be on sale as well. And at $30 at Best Buy, Home Depot and Walmart, it’ll be a must have for anyone wanting to add additional coverage to their voice-controlled smart home.

Smart Home Hubs |

At the core of every smart home is a centralized system to control various lights, smart plugs, sensors and other gadgets. So whether you’re looking for just the hub to fill out with your own devices, or a starter bundle to get your smart home up and running out of the box, Black Friday 2017 has you covered. We’re seeing either new all-time lows or matches of previous ones from several retailers.

Samsung’s SmartThings hub is getting most of the love this year as it drops $50 at Home Depot and Lowe’s. That’s matching the all-time low we’ve noted throughout the year and will be another opportunity to pick up the hub for 50% off its going rate. Bundles and other systems will be discounted as well, with the Home Monitoring kit dropping by $100 at JCPenney’s and the Home Wi-Fi System going for $250 (Reg. $350). Home Depot is also taking 25% off select Iris hubs and starter packs, which are certainly worth taking a look at to build out your smart home.

Lighting and Outlets |

Outfitting your home with smart lighting systems is a great way to not only cut down on energy costs, but also to add some ambiance as well. The same can be said for internet-connected outlets which let you connect just about any appliance to your smartphone. Regardless of which you’re eyeing to add to your home, there are a few notable deals to have you covered.

Most notably this is one of the first significant price drops on the newest generation of Philips Hue bulbs at Home Depot, where you’ll score a 4-pack of the color bulbs and HomeKit-enabled hub for $160 (Reg. $200). Best Buy is also getting in on the savings and offering a 4-pack of dimmable white bulbs for $60 (Reg. $100) which is a match of the lowest it has gone for. If you’re already looking into buying any of Amazon’s Echo offerings, you’ll also be able to add a smart plug to your order for just $5 extra.

Security Cameras |

If adding some extra security to your home this Black Friday is your goal, we’ve found discounts on a variety of cameras and monitoring solutions. Regardless of if whole-home coverage is needed or simply a single camera, you’ll be able to lock in the lowest prices we’ve tracked this year on top brands like Nest, Ring and Arlo from several different retailers.

Nest is one of the biggest contenders here and the company’s indoor camera will be dropping to $149 (Reg. $200) at Best BuyKohl’s, Lowe’s, Target and more. That isn’t the lowest we’ve seen this year, but a 25% discount is nothing to sneeze at. Nest’s outdoor camera will be on sale as well, but its $30 discount isn’t as appealing as the indoor variant.

Arlo is offering a variety of discounts across is product line at several locations as well. Its top-of-the-line Pro Security Camera Kit is getting a $130 discount at JCPenney’s which drops the final price to $350. If you’re looking to extend your existing system, a 3-pack of cameras will only set you back $199 (Reg. $399) at Walmart.

Doorbells and Smart Locks |

In the same vein as security cameras, smart doorbells offer extra protection over your home when out and about. Luckily this added coverage won’t set you back too much come Black Friday, as we’re seeing up to 50% off certain models as well as other deep discounts on devices to keep your home safe.

At the forefront of these Black Friday’s deals you’ll find the $99 Ring Wireless Doorbell which is getting a $100 discount at Home Depot. Stepping up to Ring’s more advanced model will score you a $50 savings. If you don’t need the 1080p camera or swappable faceplates, the base model is definitely the way to go to maximize your savings.

On the smart lock side, Lowe’s is offering some solid discounts on two of Kwikset’s deadbolts. The Kwikset Smart Deadbolt with Keypad will be going $39 (Reg. $69) while the upgraded SmartKey deadbolt will get a $40 discount down to $59. These savings are in line with what we’ve noted throughout the year, so picking one up next week would be a solid buy.

Thermostats |

Throughout the year we’ve seen some notable price drops on popular smart thermostats from Nest, Honeywell and more. For this year’s Black Friday sales, major retailers are matching these lows or even going as far to offer the biggest discounts we’ve tracked.

The Nest Learning Thermostat is sure to be a big hit this Black Friday as the popular model drops to $199 at Best Buy, Kohl’s, Home Depot and Meijer. We’ve taken note of this price a few times throughout 2017, so it isn’t a surprise for the thermostat to return to the $50 discount. The HomeKit-compatible ecobee4 thermostat will also be getting in on the $50 savings, dropping to $199 at Lowe’s. On the budget-friendly front, Lowe’s is also discounting the Honeywell’s thermostat to a new low of $54 (Reg. $89).

As the holiday season progresses we’ll continue showcasing the best deals on our Twitter and Facebook. Be sure to checkout and bookmark our Black Friday 2017 guide to catch up on all the upcoming discounts.
