8BitDo’s epic new Retro Mechanical Numpad for Windows and Android goes up for pre-order at $45

Brand new $45
8Bitdo Retro 18 Mechanical Numpad

Any regular reader around here knows about our affinity for 8BitDo’s special penchant for modern-retro tech, be it the new Hall Effects controllers or the epic Super Buttons on its mechanical NES keyboard, and the new Retro 18 Mechanical Numpad has arrived. The Pro 18 is essentially a standalone Numpad with two modes so it can work as both a glorious retro standard calculator by way of its onboard screen or extend your Windows setup in numpad mode. Now available for pre-order at $45 ahead of release in July, you can get a closer look and more details after the jump.

8BitDo’s epic new Retro Mechanical Numpad

Pulling straight from the design approach found on the brand’s retro Mechanical keyboards we have featured previously, the new Retro 18 Mechanical Numpad comes in four styles, the M, the Famicom edition, the C64 model, and the N edition modeled after Nintendo’s beloved NES system.

It is compatible with Windows 10 and above and Android 9.0 or above and runs, was we touched on above, in two modes: PC numpad mode and standard calculator mode. It comes with a USB cable, internal Bluetooth 5.0 radio, and a 2.4GHz USB adapter for connectivity – you’ll also find a small magnetic port or slot along the bottom of the device it can neatly slide right into.

In terms of both the aesthetic and components in place here, you’ll find much of the same parts from the Retro Mechanical Keyboards – dye PBT keycaps on the N and M editions or double-shot ABS keycaps on the C64 variant set within an aluminum plate. The same Kalih Box White V2 switches are used alongside a hot-swappable PCB.

On the inside it runs on a rechargeable 1,000mAh Li-on battery that delivers 160 hours of use after a 4-hour charge.

The new 8BitDo Retro 18 Mechanical Numpad is set for release come July 15 and pre-orders are now live on Amazon at $44.99

Okay, so sure, it’s not exactly the most practical thing for everyone. I mean why not just a buy a keyboard with one of these extensions on it already? Well, you didn’t and this thing is retrotastic fire, and I want one anyway.
