Grand Theft Auto 6 pre-orders now live!

Update:

Okay here we go! Grand Theft Auto 6 pre-orders are now live. Retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and others are at the ready to take orders on boxed copies and you won’t have to pay until later this year when it launches in November. All digital copies are expected to be live on the PS and Xbox storefronts tonight as well.

We can only assume with a pre-order launch of this magnitude, retailer sites will be unreliable at best, but stay vigilant, secure your copy and the pre-order bonus it comes with – this is not a console after all so there should be a ton of physical copies available to order this evening (we hope).

The physical edition is indeed just a box with a download code in it so you can pre-load the game a week early and start playing the second it launches on November 19. While that is super disappointing to some folks, I still happen to think the box is a wonderful collector’s item, great for the shelf in the game room, and, at the very least, does represent a physical copy of what might be the biggest game launch in history.

As we detailed previously the standard edition is $80 and the deluxe edition is $100 (more on that below). That’s not cheap by any means and if you pre-order the physical boxed edition you won’t have to actually pay Amazon until November when the game releases, spreading out the extra spend across nearly half a year of income.
