September Nintendo Direct date might have leaked: Here’s what to expect

September is here and that means we are in for loads of new tech reveals, the latest from Apple, and, presumably, the next Nintendo Direct. And with fans eagerly awaiting news on the Zelda Ocarina of Time remake, I’m not sure anticipation for the September Nintendo Direct could be any higher. 

When is the next Nintendo Direct?

Nintendo typically hosts a Direct showcase in September, just about everyone knows this already. And while things haven’t been entirely text book on this front since the Switch 2 was released, most folks still think there is going to be a Direct this month, and I do too. 

The question is when and whether or not the Zelda Ocarina of Time remake will be there. You would think the remake warrants its own Direct entirely, but Nintendo could either host a dedicated show this month, or just give us a proper trailer and still do another dedicated show before launch. Either could also be a Zelda 40th anniversary show and include the leaked Switch 2 special edition console.

And that brings us to when. Several folks across the webs are eyeing September 10. This seemed to be largely speculation and educated guesses, and largely still is, but a recent Ubisoft leak might have led to some evidence here. 

Ubisoft recently posted on one of its official X accounts to address some recent leaks surrounding Just Dance: Decades of Hits. Ubisoft’s Just Dance titles tend to get some featured screen time during Direct presentations:

Ubisoft, as you can see above, just confirmed that it is committed to share the complete picture with folks on September 10 – one of the dates keen Nintendo fans have slated for the Direct. 

Is this confirmation of a Nintendo Direct on September 10? Well, no, of course not. But it is certainly adding fuel to the fire here. 

Either way, just about everyone, including Morgan Stanley and other financial institutions, are very much expecting to see a Direct this month, and, again, so are we – the next Nintendo Direct might very well go live on September 10.
