After waiting, more or less, a full year for Nintendo to host a major Nintendo Direct for Switch 2, the day has finally arrived. Yesterday Nintendo made it official – it is hosting a full-on 2026 summer Nintendo Direct and it goes live today.
Nintendo Direct – June 2026
There have been an inordinate amount of Nintendo leaks and rumors this year, and one of them was that we weren’t getting a proper Nintendo Direct until June. Even that started to feel like a long shot, but lo and behold, Nintendo made an official announcement yesterday and we are now just hours out from big Nintendo Direct June 2026 summer edition.
Nintendo has already told us today’s Direct main event will run for roughly 50-minutes with new reveals and updates on Switch and Switch 2 games. However, we are also getting a lengthy Nintendo Treehouse: Live stream immediately thereafter to showcase roughly 95 minutes of gameplay from titles featured in today’s Direct.
The livestream kicks off with Nintendo Direct 6.9.2026, which will run for roughly 50 minutes and highlight upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch games. Immediately following, Nintendo Treehouse: Live | June 2026 will premiere and last around 95 minutes, showcasing gameplay of select titles featured during the Nintendo Direct.
Will there be Nintendo Direct this month?
Yes, there will be, as Nintendo has now made the rumored June 9 Nintendo Direct official.
What time is today’s Nintendo Direct?
The June 2026 Nintendo Direct will be kicking off at 7:00 a.m. PT/10:00 a.m. ET.
How long is Nintendo Direct?
These livestreams can vary in length, but Nintendo has already confirmed the June showcase will run for 50 minutes with an additional 95 minutes of live gameplay demos thereafter as part of an official Nintendo Treehouse: Live event.
What will Nintendo show at today’s Direct?
As we detailed already there are loads of prime candidates and plenty of educated predictions flying around. Many of the rumors and leaks from earlier in the year have already come true, and if that trend continues, there’s a good chance we will not see a proper new 3D Mario game revealed today and a good chance we will see the rumored Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Remake for Switch 2.
There is also a chance we see some kind of new Switch Sports for Switch 2, the Duskbloods release date trailer, and a Pikmin 4 Switch 2 Edition, among others. Scope out our feature piece right here for details and predictions.
