When id Software announced it was relaunching the classic Doom franchise we all, for the most part, knew what we were getting into. Then last year in May when the game finally hit store shelves it received critical praise and proceeded to mostly blow our minds. It has an aggregate score on Metacritic in the mid-to-high 80s across all three platforms, along with a number of near perfect scores from some of those most reputable outlets.

It is a sad day folks. Apple is discontinuing our favorite miniature iPods. 9to5Mac has now confirmed Apple will no longer be selling the iPod nano and shuffle. Already removed from Apple’s site, they will be taken out of retail stores as well. The news comes alongside the announcement of the updated iPod touch lineup with reduced prices and more.
