Update: the 64GB is now listed as out of stock but the 32GB version is still available and at the lowest price we’ve ever seen.

Motorola offers its Moto X (2nd Gen) 64GB phone for $249.99. Coupon Code SPRINGISHERE at checkout drops the price $100 to $149.99 shipped. That’s $100 off the lowest price we’ve seen on the 64GB version of this phone. Note this is an unlocked GSM phone which will work on all carriers but T-Mob or Net10 SIM cards are added during configuration. This phone gets great reviews (9to5Google)and typically goes for double or triple this price.

You must configure the 64GB Storage before color options.

Leather and Wood back upgrades are $25 more.

It features upgrade to Marshmallow and the following features:

Woot via Amazon offers the Motorola SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem and 802.11AC Wi-Fi Router (model SBG6782AC, refurb) for $74.99 with free shipping. As a pricing comparison, it typically sells for about $185-$220 and has never been lower than today’s deal. Standalone cable modems and wireless routers are frequently on sale, but we rarely see a combo unit like this one from Motorola receive a significant price drop. This modem will pay for itself within a year because the router you are renting from your cable company can cost as much as $10/month.

Not only does this gadget simplify your network setup, but it should also increase wireless performance and prevent connection drop outs. Rated 4 out of 5 stars from 700 Amazon reviewers. Other features and tech specs can be seen below.

This week, Daily Steals offers the iPhone 5 16GB refurb w/Otterbox Defender Blazed Phone Case for $99.99 shipped. That’s the first time we’ve ever seen an iPhone 5 below the $100 threshold and adding the Otterbox Defender case is the icing on the cake.

This is a great alternative to an iPod for kids or parents or a great backup phone in case something happens to yours. It takes the latest OS 9, is unlocked and works on all carriers except Sprint. If you give it to your kids, you can use Find my iPhone/Friends to find their whereabouts and even without the SIM, the 911 functionality works in emergencies.

It also makes a great burner phone with a $30/month unlimited data plan from T-Mobile or testing phone for developers.  expand full story

If you don’t want to start your tool kit one piece at a time, Amazon today has a great deal on the Black & Decker LDX120PK 20-Volt MAX Lithium-Ion Drill and Project Kit (B00C625KVE) at $59.99 shipped. This is a great beginner/intermediate tool set and is even great for older kids who are learning how to really fix stuff. If you have a cottage, external structure or a vacation home this is also a great kit to have around. It includes 20V Drill with removable battery that connects to tons of Black and Decker equipment.

I like this kit because it contains everything you need to do light work around the house, hang paintings, fix small appliances, etc. Better yet, it all fits in a tiny carrying case (included). expand full story

Sometimes you don’t need to buy the most expensive HDTV you can afford to get the job done. Today at Walmart there are two great deals on full 1080P TVs that shouldn’t break the bank and make excellent second/third TVs for the bedroom, basement, attic or kids’ room.

First up, ProScan’s 42-inch-er at Walmart is $179.99 shipped.  It gets 4/5 stars at Amazon and features:

  •  3 X HDMI, VGA, YPbPr, AV Audio/Video, PC Audio, Headphone, Coaxial, RF
  • Super Slim Design
  • Outstanding Picture Quality
  • Includes Full Function Remote Control. Wall Mount Ready (Mount not included)

Next, we have the Refurbished VIZIO E24-C1 24″ Class 1080p 60Hz Razor LED HDTV and monitor also at Walmart for $89.90 shipped. That’s tied with the lowest price we’ve seen on a 24-inch HDTV from a 1st tier manufacturer and $10 off the regular sale price. It’s also the lowest we could find for any 1080p TV with Smart features that could also be used as a monitor. It has 1 HDMI input, is wall mountable and it comes with VIZIO Internet Apps Plus. Rated 4.2/5 stars by over 3,000 Amazon shoppers.

There is no better tablet deal out there than the Kindle Fire 7-inch IPS display tablet for $49.99 shipped. Sure it is all baseline specs, the front and back cameras aren’t amazing and it only has 8GB of storage. It runs FireOS instead of Google’s full Android which isn’t a bad thing if you don’t need Google’s apps.

But that doesn’t mean it still isn’t a great consumption machine for $50 (or 6 pack for $250!). You get Netflix/Hulu/Amazon Prime videos and music. Tons of Appstore apps and Amazon’s best selection of eBooks on the planet.  Amazon also offers a free paid app every day.

Today Amazon gives more options to those in the $50 tablet market. Besides black, you can grab the playful magenta, blue, and tangerine colors and for $20 more you can get a 16GB option (also available on the ruggedized kids version w/2 year garantee)

Customers can now choose between three new colors: magenta, blue, and tangerine, as well as black—and still for only $49.99. Fire is also available with 16 GB of internal storage for only $69.99.

Also starting today, Fire Kids Edition, the tablet built from the ground up for kids (and their parents), is available with a new green kid-proof case (already available in pink or blue) and with 16 GB of internal storage for $119.99. Fire Kids Edition with 8 GB of internal storage will continue to be available for only $99.99.

I’ll be honest, I like the colors but I’m not sure I’m in on a 40% increase in price for 8GB of storage. The Kindle Fire also has MicroSD storage which means you can certainly store your media more cheaply with a MicroSD card.  That same $20 buys you a 64GB MicroSD card that you can also throw into a GoPro, Raspberry Pi or Android phone. expand full story

Pssst!

If you are an Apple Watch/Sport owner, you probably already know the value in having a few different easy-to-switch watch bands around. Sport bands are great for outdoor fun but a nice Leather band cleans up your Sport and turns it into a night on the town or formal event type of timepiece.

But Apple charges $149 for Leather magnetic clasp bands which is more than half the price of an Apple Watch Sport on sale these days. What if I told you you could get a great knockoff of the Apple Watch Leather Band at a tenth of the price for just $14.49 Prime Shipped after $14.99 coupon code 9JGNFFVF. You can also pick up a well-rated Milanese Loop knockoff for $12.99 Prime shipped. These certainly won’t be as good as Apple’s but at a tenth of the $149 retail price of Apple’s you can afford to take a little bit of a risk.

These come with 18 month warranty and are fulfilled by Amazon. Comes in Apple’s 5 colors and in both 38mm and 42mm sizes.

ICYMI: You can grab a Milanese Loop Band + an Aluminum Dock for $27 Prime shipped.
