Update: Nintendo has officially revealed the April 16 Switch release date for Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream – it is “also compatible with Nintendo Switch 2.”

Right on the heels of the Super Mario Galaxy Movie Direct from last weekend with our fist look at Yoshi and some new details ahed of the April release, an official announcement was made for another Nintendo Direct stream and it is set to go live this morning. 

Today’s smart glasses generally fall into two camps: ones that put a big, wearable display in front of your eyes purely for entertainment, gaming, and media like Viture’s Lumar Ultra, and there are others like the RayNeo X3 Pro we’re checking out today – that aim to deliver practical, everyday AR experiences. I’m already a heavy user of the first kind for daily entertainment, but I’ve yet to see anything truly compelling in the “real” AR space for day-to-day use. I’ve been using the RayNeo X3 Pro as my primary pair of glasses for the past few weeks, and they offer a glimpse into where AR is in 2026 – full of potential, but still weighed down by deal-breaking compromises. Just after the reveal of the new LOTR Sauron’s Helmet set, some new SMART Star Wars LEGO builds have arrived. While the three initial LEGO Star Wars Smart Play sets with the included Smart Bricks are still up for pre-order, today LEGO has unveiled a series of new Smart Play Star Wars sets: the new AT-ST Attack on Endor at $49.99, the Millennium Falcon at $99.99, the Mos Eisley Cantina at $79.99, Luke’s Landspeeder at $39.99, and Yoda’s Hut and Jedi Training at $69.99. But there is a one not so SMART caveat to consider with these new builds.

Apple debuted the long-awaited AirTag 2 today. Pre-orders are now live at Amazon ahead of delivery this week and are also joined by some discounts on the now previous-generation model. 

The realm of J. R. R. Tolkien’s Middle Earth is as widely expansive as was his imagination, and LEGO is expanding its dedicated theme of the popular fantasy series with an all-new brick-built set – and this one is coming in at a much more accessible price rate than the past builds, not to mention bringing along a highly-coveted (and formerly exclusive) minifigure. In October, I got to experience the first-hand upgrades that came through Anker’s second-generation series kick-off with the C1000 Gen 2 Power Station. It’s still been serving me well in the time since, but there have been some last-minute emergency needs that wouldn’t have lasted as long without the latest C2000 Gen 2 Portable Power Station that I got my hands on. Alongside the new overview trailer for Nintendo’s adorable Talking Flower collectible from Super Mario Bros. Wonder, we are also getting some details on the actual game itself. We already knew the Switch 2 edition and an expansion were on the way this spring, but Nintendo has debuted a new trailer and announced the official release date alongside some special edition amiibo too. 

Nintendo officially revealed The Super Mario Galaxy Movie as part of the 40th anniversary Mario Bros. celebration last year. After that, it served up the world premiere trailer, and it has now announced an official Super Mario Galaxy Movie Nintendo Direct!

As part of the Mario Bros. 40th anniversary, Nintendo announced an upcoming expansion for Super Mario Bros. Wonder that is set to release sometime this spring, but it is also releasing a physical collectible known as Talking Flower too. Today it launched an overview trailer for its adorable new Talking Flower, serving up some details on some of its (sort of) smart capabilities and a release date – pre-orders are set to go live today. 

The first Xbox Developer Direct event of 2026 goes live today. This will be our first Xbox dev showcase in quite some time and it all goes live down below starting at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET. 

Fans of the brick-built Mushroom Kingdom world are already very familiar with the LEGO Mario Kart: Mario & Standard Kart set. It debuted last year shortly before the new Mario Kart World landed for Switch 2, and now LEGO appears to have just teased an upcoming Luigi Mario Kart set. 

Today we have the Aulumu C03 Snap Titanium Buckle Apple Watch Band on wrist. I have been eyeing some of the brand’s latest Apple Watch band releases and first up is the C03 – let’s see if this thing is worth the $60 price of entry.

Today Sony is unveiling its next-generation open buds known as the LinkBuds Clip Truly Wireless Open Earbuds. Sony was among the pioneers in the open earbud space and after getting a chance to test these buds out for myself over the last few days, it looks like it’s delivering some of the better options on the market with its latest LinkBuds.

Donkey Kong has been back in the spotlight with a triumphant showing in the new 3D Bananza game, but last year Nintendo unleashed Donkey Kong Country Returns HD and it has now launched a FREE update for Switch and Switch 2. 

Players will soon be heading out on an interstellar expedition to uncover the mysteries of Tau Ceti IV when Marathon hits store shelves in early March, but Sony has also now revealed a new limited edition Marathon DualSense Controller as well. Pre-orders are set to go live next week and you can get a closer look down below.

Back in November LEGO officially teased what could only have been a brand new The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time set. Not a whole lot was known back then, outside of what we could glean from the teaser video and the 2026 release date. But, right on the heels of the new SMART Brick Star Wars kits going up for sale, it appears images and details of the new set have now leaked online. 

Sony kicked off 2026 with fresh new DualSense wireless controllers and PS5 covers as part of its Hyperpop collection. There are three new colors in this collection – Rhythm Blue, Remix Green, and Techno Red – all of which feature a gradient effect that shifts from black to bright neon. Last summer Nintendo revealed a new set of Mario toys for the Japanese market under its new My Mario moniker, and it has now announced it is coming to the U.S.

Razer is known for dishing out some crazy CES announcements, and this year is no exception. The brand rolled out a wide range of new offerings – some that you’ll eagerly want to add to your battlestations, and others that feel more impressive on paper than in real-world appeal. Arguably the most intriguing reveal is the physical, holographic version of Project AVA, the assistant it first teased last year. Mechanical keyboard fans will have no shortage of choices in 2026, as a lot of manufacturers have unveiled their latest models at this year’s CES. Hot out of CES 2026, Segway has unveiled three new e-bikes alongside some new accessories ( specifically tailored for these models. With the success the brand has been having since last year’s reveal of the Xafari and Xyber e-bikes, it’s no surprise that the popular brand is further expanding its newest series of commuting solutions.
