We have featured a ton of interesting and traditional iPhone 16 cases this year already. Some have seriously impressed us, some with Camera Control buttons, and some with onboard physical gaming controls, but the Clicks case is the first one that adds a complete hardware keyboard to your new Apple headset.
Upgraded Clicks iPhone 16 Keyboard Case
Clicks keyboard cases have been around for sometime – there are iPhone 14 and 15 versions of this unique covers. But its new iPhone 16 lineup is now ready to go with a few enhancements to the add-on keyboard vibe here.
Clicks are essentially your typical higher-end iPhone case, complete with brushed metal side keys, a microfibre interior lining to hug your handset, and a newly-added built-in magnetic array to support all of your MagSafe accessories.
But the typical stuff essentially stops there when you pan down to see an entire mini hardware keyboard built right into the lower third of the front side.
For the iPhone 16 edition of the Clicks keyboard case, the brand has redesigned the actual layout of the keys to provide a more ergonomic physical typing experience alongside the customizable action buttons it carries – you can create custom actions and then assign them to these keys on the keyboard.
Another major enhancement made to the iPhone 16 edition of these cases is the USB-C data mode. When you pop your phone into the case, you’ll be attaching it via the built-in USB-C connector. The USB-C port on the bottom of the case then passes power through to your phone, not unlike what we have seen from those battery-equipped cases in the past. But this time around Clicks has ensured this USB-C port also supports data transfer so you can “connect to wired CarPlay or your computer without removing Clicks.”
The iPhone 16 Clicks keyboard cases are now available for purchase at $139.99 shipped in three color options: Onyx black, Surf blue, and Spice orange.
Clearly these cases aren’t for everyone. You might even argue that they are taking things back to before Apple and the rest of the world figured out how to get the keyboard right on the screen and leave Blackberry and the gang in the dust seemingly for good. But what’s old is always new again at some point, and I can certainly see some from the Blackberry era potentially appreciating the extra screen real estate and physical keyboard experience, at least in certain circumstances – it might cumbersome to pocket with the added length, but the keys might seriously come in handy for some folks.
