Update 6/20: Target has now informed us its Prime Day competitor sale will actually start on July 6 and run through until July 12.

As we reported previously, Amazon is once again winding up to unleash its first Prime Day event of the year and we now have official confirmation it will kick off the four-day sale event on July 8. This also traditionally indicates some major sales from the competition, including the likes of Best Buy and Walmart, but according to our sources, the next Target Circle Week is getting ready to take on the Prime Day event on July 13 July 6.

Best Buy has now officially confirmed it will have limited Nintendo Switch 2 inventory online today. In a surprise move, and after skipping out on online orders for launch week, Best Buy has sent out an email specifically stating that it will have more Switch 2 console units in-stock today (June 11).

Alongside the long list of games announced during its first Xbox Developer Direct showcase of 2025, Microsoft officially announced its rumored Xbox gaming handheld. The brand has partnered with ASUS to announce them as ROG Xbox Ally handheld, and these will be available to purchase later this year during the holidays. Microsoft has announced two new handhelds – the ROG Xbox Ally and the ROG Xbox Ally X. With the latest State of Play and 2025 Summer Game Fest showcases behind us, it is now time for Xbox to take center stage. Summer Game Fest 2025 is set to take the stage today for lengthy live stream directly from YouTube Theater in California. The fifth annual gaming showcase has quickly become one of, if not, the biggest event of the gaming calendar (save for the Switch 2 bonanza this year of course), and it is once again set to debut hours worth of game reveals, world premieres, updates, and much more. 

I was lucky enough to get my hands on the new Switch 2 this week, and while the setup process was relatively easy, I had a bunch of unanswered questions. The questions centered mostly around game transfers, what Virtual games are, and what happens to my old Switch that I still want to keep and hand it down to a child. After doing some research, I got all my questions answered, and the solution is, well, not the best. Here is what you should know.

Nintendo Switch 2 has now officially released and is available for purchase online (or will be very soon – midnight ET). Years in the making, and years of waiting, it has finally happened and the next-generation of Nintendo gaming is now out in the wild. One of the biggest sleepers of the whole Switch 2 launch has to be the new Pro Controller. I have been blown away by the material, build quality, size, and sound dampening, especially. At first I thought that $85 was a bit steep for a controller, but after using it for a day, I now see that it might be the best value in console controllers.

Switch 2 finally released early this morning at midnight, and while the fresh online re-stock at retailers like Walmart, GameStop, and Costco was limited at best, not all is lost. There are additional Switch consoles scheduled to go live starting as early as later tonight and we are once again here to make sure you get a shot at them. 

Hopefully, if you were on the lookout for a new Switch 2, you could get one during the launch day festivities! If you’ve ever used the Nintendo eShop on a Switch, then you know what torture feels like. That’s an exaggeration, obviously, but the painful process of doing, well, anything in the eShop is tedious, slow, and annoying. That’s why we’re happy to see that Nintendo has finally fixed this with a major upgrade to the eShop on Switch 2.

Update 6/4: HORI’s officially-licensed Nintendo Switch 2 Piranha Plant Camera is now back in-stock at Walmart.

The all-new Nintendo Switch 2 Camera is cool and all. It has some sweet tracking features, appears to seamlessly integrate into a number of Switch 2 exclusive games, and we had a blast testing it out in person yesterday alongside Switch 2. But it’s not a Piranha Plant, and it can’t close its mouth like this official-licensed HORI Switch 2 cam that recently surfaced online. 

Today, during the PlayStation of Play, Sony officially revealed Project Defiant, the “the first wireless fight stick designed by Sony Interactive Entertainment for PS5 and PC.” Scope out the details down below.

In our continued countdown to the launch of Switch 2 later this week, we are issuing another quick PSA based on details from the official user manual. That screen protector on the Switch 2 when you open the box isn’t a screen protector at all, and Nintendo is warning users to never remove it.
