This month’s best game deals include some classic re-releases like the debut of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and the Mega Man Legacy Collections on the Switch. Quantic Dream’s cinematic interactive title Detroit: Become Human hits this month and we are also getting Demon Souls Remastered and much more. Head below for everything.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Switch – May 4th
Releasing late last week, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for Nintendo Switch has already outsold the now 4-year old Wii U original. This time around players will able to take on the role of Funky Kong himself, which can be great for newcomers as Tropical Freeze’s platforming stages can be quite difficult. He comes with extra hearts and a series of special abilities including a double jump/hover as well infinite rolls, underwater corkscrews, and more. If you didn’t get to give this one a try the first time around, now’s your chance.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Switch $60
Detroit: Become Human PS4 – May 25th
We reported on Detroit: Become Human’s free demo that launched on PSN last month. It includes a nice hour chunk of the game’s player choice driven narrative and cinematic gameplay. It’s a great chance to give it a go before dropping the full price tag.
The game follows in-line with Quantic’s Dream’s past works including Beyond: Two Souls, which is coincidentally part of this month’s free PS Play game library. So make sure your membership is up-to-date and grab that along with Rayman Legends for free while you can.
Detroit: Become Human $60 or $48 w/ Prime
Mega Man Legacy Collection Switch – May 22nd
While we all eagerly await the release of Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and 2 on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC, the original Mega Man Legacy Collection is launching on Nintendo’s hybrid console this month!
The Switch release contains both Collection 1 and 2 including all of the original Mega Man titles right through to Mega Man 10. This is easily the definitive way to play the blue bomber classics on Nintendo’s latest machine and includes a series of updated features like a Rewind Mode and additional challenges that get unlocked with the Mega Man amiibo.
If you’re looking for the original collection on Xbox and PS4, it’s available from just over $12 Prime shipped right now.
Speaking of which, Capcom is also re-releasing Mega Man X & Mega Man 2 on special edition NES/SNES cartridges.
