With Apple celebrating its 50th anniversary this week, 8BitDo has unveiled a special version of its Retro mechanical keyboard to mark the occasion. Called the AP50th Limited Edition, this model is built to celebrate 50 years of Apple and it’s inspired by the Apple II with classic beige and brown tones. It features a compact 68-key layout with a full aluminum build, including an aluminum shell, keycaps, and buttons. The limited-edition keyboard is now up for grabs directly from the brand’s online store for a rather hefty $499.99 shipped price, and you can get a closer look at it below along with more details.

The all-new Anker Nano Power Strip has arrived. The brand is unleashing the newest member of its Nano power lineup today with a unique power strip product that neatly clamps to the side/back of a desk or shelf, leaving a series of USB ports up top and some AC outlets neatly stowed away out of sight underneath. The white is now live on Amazon (the black model is also now live on Amazon but we are still awaiting the white model listing) and the black variant directly on the Anker site.

What if Apple made MacBooks back in 1984? That’s the question Dbrand decided to ask itself and the answer is the all-new 1984 MacBook skins. The new new MacBook Neo, M5 MacBook Pro, and the upgraded M5 MacBook Air launch today and will begin landing on doorsteps very shortly, and now Dbrand has now launched its all-new vintage-inspired 1984 skins to bring some Apple nostalgia to your modern machines.

As someone who has reviewed and used plenty of mechanical keyboards, I’d started to feel like I’d seen it all in this space. Most boards today only really differ in layout or materials, while the overall design feels pretty repetitive. But the LOFREE Flow 2 we’re checking out today actually stands out. On paper, it sticks to a familiar 68-key layout, but the design is quite different, and it brings a few thoughtful additions that make it genuinely interesting. I’ve been using the Flow 2 wireless low-profile keyboard as my main board for the past few months, and it’s one I keep coming back to, even with several other keyboards sitting on my desk.

SANDMARC is best known for its iPhoneography gear, as well as its cases and Apple Watch bands around here, but it also makes some wonderful purpose-built carriers for content creators as well. Today the brand is announcing its new 6L and 9L Hybrid Sling for iPhoneographers and creative professionals alike. You can also score an exclusive deal on pre-orders using code 9TO510 at checkout.

Dust off your kitty ears and turn your Razer Chroma up to 11, because the new Razer Kiyo V2 is here and is ready to capture video in 4 K at 30fps with AI controls. But the market has gotten busier since Razer’s last entrant into the webcam space. Insta360 has been innovating with the Link 2 and Link 2C, which raises my biggest question for the Kiyo V2: “Is it enough?” We’ll run through all the features and find out.

There’s been a couple trends in power bank design over the last couple years – see through form-factors that show off the internals and onboard displays. The new Lenovo 140W Smart Laptop Power Bank has both of them and it’s making its way stateside as a listing has just appeared on Amazon.

One of the most exciting releases in the mouse game, in about as long as I can remember, has arrived with the all-new Logitech MX Master 4. Previous iterations have been, and still are, very popular among readers and staffers. I have colleagues that have been urging me and my poor mouse hand to switch over from the infamous Magic Mouse for more than a couple years now – will the MX Master 4 finally be the turning point for me? Is the MX Master 4 better than Magic Mouse? Let’s dive in.

What we love

Logitech is debuting its new Signature Slim Solar+ K980 Keyboard today. Yes it is a solar keyboard, but it’s not quite like any other solar keyboard I have ever used. You never need to charge this one – just the ambient light in your space, natural or otherwise, will keep it juiced indefinitely.

Apple’s Find My tracking and even Google Find My Device tech to some degree is everywhere now – keychains, wallet cards, water bottles, flashlights, and now…laptop sleeves. Burton Goods recently unleashed a series of new leather accessories with its latest lineup of wallets, card holders, and the passport model, but it also released the gorgeous new Leather Techfolio Cord Organizer as well. What quite possibly might be the prettiest new way to tame your tech accessories on-the-go or at home has arrived in the 9to5toys offices, and we have now put it to the test.

We’ve tested a bunch of chargers here at 9to5Toys, and while there are plenty of good ones that we continue to recommend, most of them fall short somewhere or the other – be it when it comes to the number of devices it can charge or the overall output it can deliver simultaneously. There are only a handful of charging stations out there on the market that can do it all, and the UGREEN Nexode 500W 6-port charging station we’re checking out today is one of them. This particular charger has been sitting on my desk as my main charger, topping off everything from my iPhone, AirPods, MacBook Air, and even my other everyday essentials like mouse and DualSense controller. OMOTON Rotating Laptop Stand

Buy for $10 (Reg. $20)

What we love

If you spend hours at a desk each day, ergonomics are important. For years I stared down at a laptop, and now my neck and shoulders pay the price. This has lead me to craft a setup where my display is up at eye level. While I still have the wear and tear from poor ergonomics in the past, you don’t have to wind up like me. This stand can help bring a MacBook or PC laptop up to eye level, and it boasts a flexible design that can even rotate a full 360 degrees.

Earlier this spring a brand new Anker Nano Charging Station with an onboard display similar to the Anker Prime lineup that has been popular among 9to5Toys readers quickly appeared over in Japan. Scope it out down below.

I’ve been on the hunt for a new portable SSD solution and, despite some of the issues its drives have had in past years, SanDisk’s Extreme lineup has been a reliable one for me so opted to test out the latest SanDisk Extreme PRO with USB4. While data transfer speed rates have been spotty at times without modern Thunderbolt 5 ports, it has otherwise been a reliable solution worth considering for all but the most hardcore professionals out there. Let’s dive in.

The ESR MagMouse, which launched on Kickstarter just over a week ago, aims to solve a specific problem: making your mouse easier to carry. While you can always toss it into your backpack, what about those moments when you’re quickly moving between meetings or classes and want to carry it more conveniently with your laptop? According to the brand, its new $36 MagMouse (now $26 for early backers) – which I’ve been testing for about a week – is designed specifically for that purpose. The mouse works as advertised and I’m here to tell you all about it. Hit the jump for more details.

Anker recently sent over its brand-new 14-in-1 Prime TB5 Docking Station for review and so we could throw out some early hands-on impressions of its latest workstation hub. Loaded with I/O around every turn, a sweet onboard halo light around the top, and a built-in cooling system (no external power supply here), we have had a week or so to test it out, so let’s dive in.

ESR is debuting a new mouse today that can magnetically attach to laptops and tablets. Called MagMouse, it’s a wireless mouse that snaps on to laptops and tablets with the help of a reusable magnetic base. It’s designed to make your live easier by making it convenient to grab and go between meetings, classrooms, workspaces, and more. There are and have been other magnetic models out there, as well as mice with integrated cables, but according to ESR this is the “world’s first” to add the snap-and-go convenience. This particular mouse is now live on Kickstarter and early backers can score a unit for just $24, which is 32% less than its $36 listed price. Head below for more details.

Folks rocking a MacBook or PC with Thunderbolt 5 now have another way to tap into the raw performance there with UGREEN’s new SSD enclosure. Update: The new 2TB model LaCie Rugged SSD Pro5 is up for purchase on Amazon with a launch deal at $329.99 shipped, down from the regular $400 list price.

It’s time for a look as the next-generation of portable SSD tech – the new LaCie Rugged SSD Pro5 with Thunderbolt 5 and break-neck speeds. While not the very first portable Thunderbolt 5 SSD out of the gate from one of our favorite brands – that nod goes to the OWC Envoy Ultra, the new LaCie is certainly one of the first new premium models sporting the same date transfer protocol as those ports on your new M4 Mac mini or M4 MacBook Pro (among other things). While the new LaCie Rugged SSD Pro5 did just arrive in our offices, we do have some early hands-on impressions to share.

After we saw major price hikes across the portable SSD space in 2024, and finding myself in need of at least one more modestly-sized external storage solution, the PNY RP60 kept coming back up for a few reasons. But the most glaring details that had me leaning in its direction was the fact that it was a relatively new option from a relatively affordable storage brand – the RP60 is indeed one of the least pricey 1TB portable SSDs rated for speeds up to 2,000MB/s right now from a trusted brand. Head below for our hands-on impressions.

The new slate of Thunderbolt 5 hubs are arriving and one of our favorite brands in the space has now unleashed its latest. The OWC Thunderbolt 5 Hub was showcased at CES 2025 this year and is now ready to expand your Thunderbolt 5 I/O capabilities alongside power passthrough action and additional monitor support. Now available for purchase on Amazon and directly from OWC, get a closer look and more details on the brand’s new Thunderbolt 5 Hub below.

We have already featured Satechi’s new M4 Mac mini Stand & Hub as well as its new metal travel charger, but the brand isn’t quite finished with its CES reveals just yet. Today it is officially unveiling its SM3 Mechanical Backlit Bluetooth Keyboard – its very first full-size mechanical model.
