Nearly a year after it entered bankruptcy, Mad Catz has returned after all of its assets were purchased by a third-party in China. Operating under the new name Mad Catz Global Limited, the brand is unveiling a fresh line of gaming accessories today. The guys that are officially behind this resurgence have worked at the China-based manufacturing plant for years. Their familiarity with the brand will hopefully serve it well in the years to come.

CES 2018 will mark the official unveiling of a fresh line of Mad Catz accessories. The plan is to show off twelve new products next week in Vegas, including eight mice, two keyboards and two headsets. More details below.

In case Alexa, Siri and Google Assistant weren’t enough, Roku is now throwing itself into the highly-competitive voice assistant space at CES 2018. Although we’ve seen some rumors in recent months that it may be unveiling its own wireless speaker, the popular streaming media player manufacturer has today announced that it will be licensing out its software to third-parties.

Roku has been doing this with its software for years in partnership with TV brands such as TCL and Sharp. This is, however, its first foray into the world of voice assistants. Along with today’s news is word that Roku will be introducing a new partnership with Magnavox to bring even more budget-focused displays to market in 2018.

Avido is aiming to solve those problems, and recently announced WiBa, an external battery that not only charges your phone wirelessly via the Qi standard but charges itself wirelessly.

GE had quite an eventful 2017 on the home automation front, and with CES 2018 right around the corner, it looks to be kicking off the year on the right foot to replicate its success. Following the announcement that HomeKit support would finally be arriving, GE has unveiled two new smart lighting accessories ahead of next week’s highly anticipated expo.

The C by GE line of smart home accessories already includes some of the more interesting lighting products on the market. Aside from the expected smartphone control, the lineup touts the ability to command these devices using just your voice thanks to your preferred digital assistant; Alexa, Google Assistant, and soon Siri.
