Has anyone else had the experience of running out the door without that coffee in hand? In case you didn’t think this would ever be a good idea, there’s a new product on Kickstarter that could prove you wrong.

Mokase is the special smartphone case that will literally brew coffee for you. I see what they did there. Simply put, there will be coffee inside your phone that can be poured like a pitcher. Maybe it’s weird, but you can’t beat convenience. And in case you are worried about liquid inside your device, the iPhone 7 stays perfectly alive in a cup of hot coffee.

This case takes in a “wafer,” which is basically a thin, rectangular, coffee filter. Each of these is called a “Mokaromi.” Once you slide that inside, the Mokase app should allow you to start the brewing process. After that, coffee can be poured into a cup.

Does this mean your phone could smell like coffee, always? Probably.

Each Mokaromi wafer has internal material that is able to preserve coffee for about 3 months. When the case needs to get coffee out of it, it breaks the membrane and coffee smoothly pours out via the liquid exit pipe. It’s made of a special alloy alluminium-silicon, able to bear high temperatures without releasing particles or toxic substance.

The Mokase is able to heat your espresso up to between 50 and 60 degrees Celsius, so you can have a tiny, warm 25ml shot wherever you are. Be aware that 25ml isn’t a lot of liquid, though, as a standard espresso shot is one ounce, or 29ml.

There are a few coffee flavors currently available to choose from during the Kickstarter campaign: Classic, Toasted, and Arabic. Coffee can be chosen with or without sugar already inside. A portable and collapsable cup is also included so you are always prepared to be woken up.

As of today, the Mokase works with a range of smartphones. The iPhone 6/6s and 7/Plus, and Samsung’s Galaxy S6 through the S8 (both Edge and non-Edge models) are all compatible.

The Mokase is available for pre-order on Kickstarter for $54 in white or black. This bundle includes the case and 2 coffee packets. $11 will get you 15 coffee packets, 1 cleaning packet, and a portable cup. Expected delivery is this coming September.
