Today, on this new edition of our 9to5Toys Travel Kit series, we’re taking a quick look at some gear I’m packing into a small kit for a week-long trip to Europe with a couple of long-haul flights. I’m going light on the tech front as this is more of a vacation than a work assignment, but I’ll still have all the essentials to keep my devices charged and my things in check. AMD’s Ryzen 9000 series desktop CPU lineup that debuted last year in August is now getting some new models. The brand’s new gaming-centric Ryzen 9 9900X3D and Ryzen 9 9950X3D desktop processors are now available to purchase. While we’re waiting for Rockstar Games to announce the release date of Grand Theft Auto 6, it’s busy pushing updates to its existing blockbuster title. The PC version of Grand Theft Auto V is getting a free upgrade in a few days, bringing support for ray-traced global illumination, ambient occlusion, and a bunch of other features. The company confirmed the same via an official blog post and announced the upgrade will be available for free from 4th March. We first heard about the Planck SSD last month when it made an appearance at the CES 2025 show floor. It has officially hit Kickstarter now where you can back the project and be among the first ones to get your hands on what is said to be the “world’s smallest” portable SSD. Dell followed up NVIDIA’s RTX 50-series announcement at CES 2025 earlier this year with a revival of its Area-51 gaming desktop. This new rig, complete with its new case design, RTX 5080 GPU, and Intel’s new Lunar Lake chips is now up for grabs. This a fully decked out gaming PC that comes with all the latest and greatest hardware, and Dell has put an eye-watering $4,449.99 price tag on it. That’s just for the base variant with 32GB/2TB config, and you can also snag it in 64GB/4TB config for $5,049.99 shipped. After making rounds on the internet for a few years unofficially in the form of leaks and rumors, the successor to Nintendo’s Switch console finally made its first official appearance last week in a video shared by the company on its YouTube channel. The video, right from the get-go, confirmed that the Switch 2 will be bigger than its predecessor. You can clearly see the main body of the console and the Joy-Con grow in size before taking the final form. Razer is known for showcasing some pretty wild concepts at CES, and it’s safe to say that it didn’t disappoint. This year at CES 2025, the brand is showcasing Project Arielle, a concept mesh chair that cools you down or can blast some hot air on demand. JBL has unveiled a new pair of headphones at CES 2025 called the Tour One M3, and this set has a bunch of noteworthy features that make it stand out from many other alternatives on the market. Lenovo’s Legion Go handheld remains one of the most popular PC gaming handhelds out there, and the brand is updating its handheld lineup with a lightweight Legion Go S. At CES 2025, Lenovo’s This new handheld misses out on a couple of things, but it more than makes up for it by being the first third-party SteamOS handheld. Alienware is reviving its iconic Area-51 gaming desktop and it gave us our very first look at the new machine at CES 2025. At the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), LG and Microsoft have revealed that an Xbox app will be integrated into LG’s smart TVs at some point later this year. Once this goes live, the folks with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription will be able to stream games from the Xbox Game Pass library on select LG TVs via the LG Gaming Portal. This announcement solidifies Microsoft’s continued efforts to push gaming beyond its Xbox consoles, trying to turn every screen and device into an Xbox.

LG is getting an early jump on CES proceedings by announcing its new lineup of UltraGear gaming monitors.
