Apple’s “unofficial” eBay Store is still going strong and the release of iPhone 6 has sparked new price drops on previous generation iPhones.

A factory unlocked manufacturer refurbished iPhone 5 now starts at just $399 and includes a full one year Apple warranty, is repackaged with manual and charger, and has been returned to like-new condition. Furthermore, the “final quality inspection [is performed] by Apple.” Enter redemption code CELL20SAVE during checkout and you’ll save an additional $20 on each model. That drops the price of a 16GB model down to $379 shipped.

As a pricing comparison, Apple is currently charging $450 for an unlocked iPhone 5c (essentially the same phone) with half as much storage. After surveying completed listings on eBay, most pre-owned iPhone 5 units sell for anywhere between $300-$400, but keep in mind those aren’t refurbished by Apple and generally do not include a warranty or any accessories.

Today’s coupon code also drops the 32GB iPhone 5 to $389 and the 64GB iPhone 5 to $399. All of these variations are Apple refurbished, include a one year warranty, and are eligible to be shipped to dozens of different countries:

Apple’s “It’s been too Long” event just wrapped up and the Apple online store is now back up and has revealed new lower price points for refurbished iPads. As you’d expect, the original iPad mini (2013 model) is the most aggressively priced at $209 (down from $219). iPad mini 2 (w/ Retina display) starts at $249 (down from $339) and iPad Air now starts at $339 (down from $419).

The cover of Target’s weekly ad puts the spotlight squarely on Apple. This week only, you can get a free Target gift card worth $20-$100 with the purchase of select Apple products. We’ve featured better deals for all of these products in the past, but if you need one of these products now then Target’s deals are certainly better than paying full retail.

Target’s offer of a free $100 gift card with the purchase of an iPad Air is the best deal of the bunch. However, there’s a really good chance we could see an updated model released at Apple’s rumored October 16th event. If Apple does release a new iPad Air model, it will most likely be priced at $500 and it most certainly won’t include a free gift card. Yesterday, it was revealed that the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus could be charged faster (in some cases as fast as 2 hours to full) using a 2.1A AC charger like the one that comes with the iPad. Apple unleashed iOS 8 yesterday, which it calls “the biggest iOS release ever.” Perhaps lost in the craziness of its release was the fact that App Store developers can now offer app bundles. You’ll find a new “Bundles” section on the App Store with a number of discounted bundles from popular developers.

The bundles are separated into three sections: App Bundles, Game Bundles and Kids Bundles. With anywhere from 2 to 9 apps per bundle, users have the option to only pay for the apps in a given bundle they don’t already own by paying the difference.

Preorders for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus kicked off late last night and if early sales are any indication, these new models are going to be the best selling iPhones in Apple’s history. This year’s iPhone lineup is also the most expensive ever, with the iPhone 6 Plus topping out at $949 without carrier subsidies.

At minimum you should keep your iPhone in a durable case to protect it from everyday bumps and drops, but you should also consider a protection plan for more catastrophic accidents.

Walmart, the giant US retailer, often negotiates exclusive price cuts on products that smaller retailers can’t match. Just like last year, it has set its sights on the all new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

According to a report published tonight by CNET, Walmart is set to trim $20 off both of Apple’s new super sized iPhones. That drops the iPhone 6 down to $179 and the iPhone 6 Plus down to $279. Both prices require a two-year commitment with AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint. Also, beginning on Friday, September 12th, Walmart will begin accepting preorders for the iPhone 6. Anyone who preorders through Walmart will also get a free $15 e-gift card. Sam’s Club members will be able to save an additional $2 on both models, which brings their total discount down to $22.

Based on all the information we’ve seen thus far, these price drops only apply to the 16GB iPhone 6 models and only the 4.7-inch variant will be available for preorder. As of right now, the only other noteworthy iPhone 6 deal that we’ve seen is from Radio Shack who is offering a free $50 iTunes gift card with purchases through September 27th.

Apple itself and authorized resellers are competiting for your iPhone 6 purchase next week. This battle has spurred some retailers to sweeten the pot with trade-in offers. We’ve already seen Verizon Wireless up the ante with its offer that allows iPhone 4 owners to trade up to an iPhone 6 for free.

Now, Radio Shack is the first retailer to offer a non-trade special on Apple’s all-new line of flagship smartphones…

In light of Apple’s iPhone 6 announcements, we’re expecting a flurry of trade-in promos from carriers and trade-in services. We’ve already covered your best iPhone 6 trade-in options, but this Verizon promo stood out to us.

Verizon is promising a $200 gift card for any working iPhone 4/4s/5/5c/5s. Now, you can probably get a higher rate for all of the iPhone 5 models, but $200 for a 5-year old iPhone 4 is way above market value.

For example, Gazelle is currently offering $15 for a working Verizon 8GB iPhone 4 and $50 for a working AT&T 8GB iPhone 4. Amazon prices are better at ~$57 for similar configurations, but that’s still not close to the $200 Verizon is offering as part of this promo.

It’s not clear if it works on preorders or not, and other details remain scarce, so check back for the latest updates.

Update: Staples is offering the below starter kit for $160 (or less) using code 76791

Amazon is offering the Philips Hue Personal Wireless Lighting BR30 Starter Pack (432682) for $175.49 shipped. That’s nearly $25 off the regular price and the lowest we’ve seen this kit go for. It regularly goes for $200 at all other major retailers including the Apple Store, Staples, and others.

It includes three BR30 Hue light bulbs and a bridge which can control up to 50 bulbs throughout an entire home (A19 or BR30). At $60 each, purchasing three BR30 Hue light bulbs individually would run you $180 without the bridge on Amazon.

Apple has recently added the 2014 MacBook Air to the refurbished section of the Apple Online Store. Currently, the 1.4 GHz Intel Core i5 11-inch MacBook Air is available in two configurations priced at $769 and $929, with 128 GB and 256 GB SSD’s respectively. 13-inch Air’s have also been in the store at various times in the last couple of days, so should return once Apple replenishes their refurbished inventory. These reduced prices are equivalent to around 15% savings in comparison new models from Apple’s site. The products were added two days ago, and have been lapsing in and out of stock constantly, so — like much of Apple’s refurbished offerings — quantities are obviously limited.

Walmart has cut the prices of both of the current iPhone models substantially in what looks like some early prep for the iPhone 6, which is expected next month. As noted by Engadget, you’ll be able to get the 16 GB model of the iPhone 5c for only $.97. No, that’s not a typo. The phone is now selling for ninety-seven cent.

The 16 GB iPhone 5s also got yet another price cut, this time down from $99 to $79. Both of these prices are only temporary and will climb back to their usual points in 90 days—unless of course a newer model comes along and knocks the retail price of these handsets down a few bucks.
