Hitman, the latest 2016 release, was a reboot for the series in many ways, as the non-numbered and subtitle-less name would suggest. It was developed by a newly formed Square Enix studio in Montreal and was the first game in the series to release in episodic fashion. While the early 2000’s games will always hold a special place in hearts of Hitman fans, especially Blood Money, the 2016 release was certainly a nice breath of a fresh air for the franchise and an excellent return for the world’s most dangerous assassin. While I personally loved the somewhat divisive 2012 release of Hitman: Absolution, the open-world sandbox levels and versatile gameplay of the latest title seems to have won more fans over.
