This is a 2-in-1 appliance with a traditional 2-slice toaster along the top and an energy efficient toaster oven on the bottom. It has 1.5 inch wide toasting slots and toasts “28% faster” than traditional options, according to Hamilton Beach. It has a 4/5 star rating from over 1,300 amazon users.

Amazon is offering the Farberware 15-Piece Stamped Stainless-Steel Cutlery Set for $30.99 shipped. That’s nearly $20 under the original price, $10 below the next best prices and the lowest we can find.

This 15-piece set includes an “8-inch chef knife, 8-inch bread knife, 8-inch slicer, 7-inch Santoku, 5-1/2-inch serrated utility knife, 3-1/2-inch paring knife, a pair of shears, a sharpening steel and six 4-1/2-inch long steak knives.” These knives are to be hand-washed, not put in the dishwasher. Limited edition Street Fighter II Arcade Soundtrack comes to vinyl w/ gorgeous art prints from Capcom’s archive

Music label Brave Wave is readying its new Generation Series of products, which is set to bring remastered legendary video game soundtracks to the masses. Much like the special edition Battletoads LP we detailed recently, Brave Wave has teamed up with Capcom for the first edition Generation Series product known as the Street Fighter II Official Arcade Soundtrack.

The double album contains remastered versions of both the CPS-1 and CPS-2 arcade soundtracks that have apparently been approved by the game’s original composer, Yoko Shimomura herself. On top of what looks like some pretty impressive artwork, there will also be liner notes from Shimomura and Polygon writer Matt Leone.

“For the first time in the series history,” Capcom and Brave Wave will also be releasing a limited edition vinyl version with exclusive art prints sourced from the Capcom vaults. It will be “carefully and especially remastered in translucent colored vinyl.”

Unfortunately the images above are just for mockup purposes only, but if this is any indication of what the final product will look like, SF fans are in for a treat. We still have no details on pricing yet,  but if you can’t wait, there are a number of Street Fighter OSTs available on eBay, some in very good condition.

This transforming Optimus Prime LEGO build might be one of the most impressive yet

We have seen our fair share of pretty amazing LEGO projects, from an official Ferrari, to incredibly detailed Starcraft maps, but this Optimus Prime job might just take the cake.

At first glance, the leader of the Autobots in his truck form is cool, but not earth shattering. But then you realize that this is a working Transformer that can morph between the truck state and the standing Optimus Prime robot. Now we are talking. One of the most impressive custom LEGO builds we have come across, it was created by an experienced block architect by the name of Mad Physicist. While there isn’t much details outside of his flickr stream, based on a few of the photos this looks like its on quite a large scale:

Pixar tech director is building his own desktop robot companion with emotional intelligence

Technical director at Pixar, Alonso Martinez, is currently in the early stages of developing a new companion robot. Mira, as it is currently named, is apparently an exploration into human-robot interaction and emotional intelligence. While currently in the very early stages of development, the small desktop companion is already equipped with some pretty impressive facial recognition and quite an adorable little personality.

As you can see in the video above, Mira’s favorite activity at the moment is peak-a-boo. Able to realize when you have covered your face, it will light up in excitement like a small child once revealed again making happy blips and bleeps while changing color.

At this point there is no official timeline of when Mira might see the light of day. It sounds as though this peak-a-boo stuff might just be the tip of the iceberg when it comes to functionality with plans to heighten its emotional awareness to create much deeper interactions with humans.

“As her understanding of the world and people’s emotions get richer so will her ability to interact with people in a more meaningful way.”

You can see some very early prototype footage of Martinez tweaking Mira’s movement on his YouTube channel. While there are certainly many different fun little robot products out there, not many of them have facial recognition and can show this kind of emotion.

The original NES Battletoads soundtrack has been immortalized in this epic new vinyl LP

Battletoads and vinyl records, two seemingly disparate items that have both seen a resurgence in popularity over the past few years. Now the two are coming together for one epic LP release courtesy of vintage collectibles company iam8bit.

Being shown off on the show floor at Comic Con 2015, the vinyl record contains David Wise’s soundtrack from the original release. The (amazing) art work you’re seeing on the exclusive Sound Chip jacket and Dark Queen gatefold is a limited run of 300 specially made for SDCC. You’ll also find a sweet looking green and yellow print centered with the Battletoads logo on the record itself.

For those who unfortunately won’t be making it out to San Diego this week, the $25 LP will be made available sometime after the show as well, but it will feature different artwork, according to reports.

Battletoads first debuted on the NES back in 1991, and recently found its way back into popular culture after rumors of a remake, an appearance in Shovel Knight and the upcoming Xbox One release of Rare Replay from E3 2015. The excruciatingly difficult beat’em up is also being immortalized alongside the rest of the Rare Replay titles in a limited edition art print by DKNG.  The 18 by 24-inch hand-pulled screen print goes for $50 and there is only 400 of them. Unfortunately it is unclear whether or not it will be made available elsewhere, but you can bet it likely won’t be hand-signed and numbered like these are.

Watch this remote controlled flying R2-D2 drone take its first flight

In celebration of Comic Con  2015, an engineer by the name of Otto Dieffenbach decided to create a flying R2D2 drone. The full sized figure can be seen taking to the skies in the video above. It seems Dieffenbach has a number of other flying figures including Superman, Harry Potter, Snoopy, and well, just about anything really. Here’s the first trailer for the new Telltale Minecraft Story Mode game

Back in December of last year Telltale announced that it would be working with Mojang on a story-based Minecraft title known as Story Mode. Quite a departure from the usual free-form, creative gameplay Minecraft took the world over with, the title looks to bring Telltale’s narrative touch into the mix. Today we get our first trailer for the 5-part episodic game (seen below), along with a quick glimpse of what to expect in terms of visuals and story.

This is not an online game, there is full dialog courtesy of Patton Oswalt and others, and there’s a definitive story arch and ending. While there is player choice driven content, like with other Telltale adventure games, players will be following along the story of Jesse and his friends as they attempt to save there world with the help of the Legendary Order:

Jesse and his group of friends revere the legendary Order of the Stone; four adventurers who slayed an Ender Dragon. The Order are the very best at what they do: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect. While at EnderCon, Jesse and his friends discover that something is wrong… something dreadful. Terror is unleashed, and they must set out on a journey to find The Order of the Stone if they are to save their world from oblivion.

The game will be available as a digital download “soon” for Mac, PC, all major consoles (other than Nintendo’s), iOS and Android. Some reports suggest “soon” could be as early as the next few weeks.
