Yesterday Nintendo hosted an IndieWorld showcase featuring a number of compelling upcoming indie tiles and even some that released shortly after the presentation. One of those titles was Blue Prince – a mysterious, “genre-defying experience, filled with a unique mix of mystery, strategy, and puzzles that weave together to create an unpredictable journey. Will your explorative steps lead you to the rumored Room 46?” It is now available for purchase on the eShop and with a nice launch deal too at $19.79, down 34% from the regular $30 list price.

As part of the announcements from the 30th anniversary Pokémon Presents for Pokémon Day 2026, Nintendo just teased a jukebox with the shape of a Game Boy. Nintendo really loves teasing fans with Game Boy nostalgia – first the LEGO Game Boy last year, and now this. Nintendo has just launched its My Mario collection in the US, which was originally introduced in Japan. The My Mario product line has been designed as an easy introduction to the Mario world for very young kids through toys, apparel, books, and simple digital experiences. I was able to get an exclusive hands-on with the entire product line and was even able to bring my four-year-old daughter to see what she thought of these new toys. Nintendo hosted its first Partner Showcase Direct this morning with a series of updates and announcements. Nintendo officially confirmed this week’s Nintendo Direct showcases yesterday, and it is set to go live this morning. Rumors and predictions pointed at an official livestream hitting the airwaves in the first week of February and that it very much is, with a full 30-minutes of updates on upcoming Switch and Switch 2 games.

Update – Live again: Nintendo Virtual Boy hardware now up for purchase

Update: The new Virtual Boy hardware is now available for purchase directly from Nintendo for Switch Online members. “This product can be purchased by those who have a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership. To play games in the Virtual Boy – Nintendo Classics, you will need an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. The Nintendo Switch Lite is not compatible.”

During today’s lengthy Nintendo Direct, we did not get any updates on the Switch Online GameCube library, but Nintendo did officially announce Virtual Boy! It is ready to add an entirely new console to its Nintendo Classics collection in the form of the ultra-retro Virtual Boy library alongside an actual Virtual Boy peripheral you stick your Switch or Switch 2 inside of.
