Apple has now officially selected Worms3 as the new Free App of the Week. Regularly listed at $5, you can download the multiplayer, turn-based battler to all of your iOS devices for the next week for free. Previous to this sale, we had never seen the game dip below $1. It has a 4 star rating from thousands much like the rest of the popular Worms games, many of which are also on sale right now.
The sale includes 100 apps and games at “new low prices”, most of which are $0.99. While we have posted some of these titles over the past week in our daily/game app roundups, this is the first time they’ve all appeared together in one giant sale. Now is your chance to fill up your app library, as we are seeing all-time lows on games, productivity apps, photography apps and much more.
A couple standouts are Pixelmator (Reg. $5), GoodReader (Reg. $5), The Room Two (Reg. $3), Rayman Jungle Run (Reg. $3), BADLAND (Reg. $4), Real Racing (Reg. $5), Angry Birds titles, and well, far too many to mention here. Not even including the insanely popular Angry Birds games, just these apps alone combine for a 4+ star rating from 100,000 reviews.
Apple has now officially kicked off another Amazing Apps and Games for $1 sale on the App Store. Many of which were featured in yesterday’s game roundup and are at some of lowest prices we have seen in quite some time. These are direct discounts and not related to lower emerging market pricing.
Beloved app developer Rovio has put a number of its apps on sale today. While you certainly can’t go wrong with any Angry Birds deal, Angry Birds Space for iPhone has now gone free for the first time on the App Store. Regularly a $1 purchase, this is the very first price drop we have seen on the interstellar bird slinger for iPhone. More details below.

Today, popular productivity app developer Readdle has launched Scanner Pro 6. While we have seen the app drop down to free previous to being updated to the latest version this morning, Scanner Pro 6 is currently available for 50% off for a limited time. You can download the scanner app for $2.99 to your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, but it will shoot back up to $5.99 once the limited release pricing period ends, which could be as early as tomorrow.

It has amassed an impressive 4.5 star rating from 27,249 reviewers in the mean time.

The very popular 2Do task management universal iOS app has gone free for the first time since it was originally released over three years ago. It regularly goes for $15 and has not been under $9.99 in over a year. With 18,000+ reviewers rating it 4.5/5 stars since its release, this app is certainly worth a download.
2Do takes a “completely different approach” to task management. Its flat and clean interface removes any distractions so users can focus on the work at hand. Most notably, 2Do has been updated with Apple Watch support and works with many popular services like Dropbox, Apple’s Reminders and Siri. It has a companion Mac app that has received a 50% price drop, down to $24.99, coinciding with the iOS version going free.
Apple has now officially chosen Magnetized as the new Free App of the Week. It regularly goes for $2.99, but will be free on all your iOS devices until this time next week. It was released back in January of last year and has only gone free once previously. This abstract puzzle game packs 80 levels and tasks players to escape the maze using special powers.
Rockstar has put Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for iOS on sale today for $2.99. While we have seen the app dip below its regular $7 price tag a couple times previously, this is the lowest price it has ever been offered for on the App Store. The massive open world game follows the exploits of Carl Johnson in Rockstar’s first jump to the sunny state of San Andreas.
Update (5/6 10:35am):Pixelmator is coming to iPhone, according to an announcement this morning. It will become a universal app once the iPhone version hits. So as pointed out in the comments section below, now is your chance to grab the app for free before the iPhone update releases.
Pixelmator for iOS is now available at 50% off. The popular image editor regularly goes for $9.99 on the App Store, but today you can grab it for just $4.99. Since its release back in October 2014, we have only seen the app go this low once, and that was during the holiday season last year.

Players can follow along as citizen’s battle an unruly self-appointed mayor in this puzzle style game. The imaginative “paper art-style” game pits citizens against government as they try to solve the city’s problems and survive a new regime.
This week Apple has selected Back to Bed as its free offering for iOS users. You can download the regular $3.99 puzzler for free on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. This week’s sale marks the first time the game has gone free since releasing in the summer of last year.

Gameloft’s Call of Duty-like iOS military shooter, Modern Combat 5: Blackout has gone freefor the first time since its release last July. This game typically goes for $4 and has been listed as high as $7. Modern Combat 5: Blackout is rated 4/5 stars by over 7,900 users.

Developed by former Apple engineers, the Duet Display app allows you to use your iPad or iPhone as an extra display for your Mac. The setup requires both an iOS app, which typically runs for $15.99 (after a $9.99 introductory price for a short time) and a Mac companion app that is free, but today the iOS side of things has dropped to its lowest price ever: $7.99.

Welcome to our second edition of Gaming For Couples! There are many couples with a gaming imbalance — one person loves games, but the other (often a girlfriend or wife) doesn’t. So we’ve created this column to focus on games that two people can enjoy together, fostering a shared sense of interaction and fun. Gaming For Couples picks need to be reasonably priced, made for both girls and guys, and widely available.
Today, we’re looking at three games from the same series: Fireproof Games’ The Room, The Room Pocket, and The Room Two, recipients of numerous best of the year awards. The first two games are actually the same title, formatted for the iPad and iPhone respectively, while The Room Two is a true sequel. It’s a perfect time to play through these games, as they’re currently being discounted below their original $5 asking prices, and The Room Three is expected to be released in Spring 2015.
In case you missed it during the holiday, Apple’s free app of the week is now Icycle: On Thin Ice. Released back in late 2013, the game has sold for between $1 and $3, with this being the first time it has ever been available for free on the App Store.

Tower Madness 2 is getting the nod as Apple’s free App of the Week. Regularly listed on the App Store for $1.99, the strategy/tower defense game is now available as a free download for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. This marks the very first time we have seen the title go free since it was released at the beginning of the year.

Developer Vector Unit has announced a new mobile title called Beach Buggy Racing coming to iOS, Android and Kindle in August. The game is a follow up to Vector’s popular 2012 Beach Buggy Blitz kart racer and looks as though it will continue the company’s line of well received mobile racing titles.
You can expect much of the same over the top kart-racing action as Beach Buggy Blitz as well as customizable vehicles, new characters each with specific abilities and 12 new tracks set in exotic off-road locations like “dinosaur-infested jungles, lava-spewing volcanoes, beautiful beaches, and mysterious swamps.”
Vector also mentions on its announcement page that the game will include up to 4 player multiplayer races with split-screen action on “one tablet or TV-connected device.“
There is no pricing information on the new upcoming title yet. The original Beach Buggy Blitz is a FREE download on iOS and Android and Vector’s popular hydro jet water racer Riptide GP2 will run you $2 on the App Store and Google Play.

MLB Advanced Media has released R.B.I. Baseball 14 for iOS today. Back in January the developer announced it would be reviving the nearly 20 year old franchise, along with its simple but engaging gameplay mechanics.
