Tacos are the key to scoring one of Sony’s crazy limited edition Gold PlayStation 4 bundles

Sony has announced that it will be releasing a new Limited Edition Gold PlayStation 4 console and there will be only 6,000 available to the public. This is just half the inventory of the rare 20th Anniversary console that Sony released last year. So you know it will be tough to come by.

The revamped console is stunning, and frankly we want one really bad. Sony has applied a nice finish on top with the traditional black coating on the bottom. The matching DualShock controller fits in perfectly. There is no denying that this will one of the most sought after PlayStation bundles to hit the market. We can already imagine the aftermarket prices skyrocketing.

Don’t expect to see this console hitting online retailers anytime soon, you’ll have to head down to Taco Bell to win one of these…

Timex combines its analog heritage with fitness tracking on the new Metropolitan+

Timex is taking another stab at fitness tracking. After releasing its One+ GPS fitness tracker a little over a year ago, the popular watchmaker is back with a new smart timepiece. The Metropolitan+ removes all the excess of Timex’s previously released tracker in favor of a classic design focused on long-lasting battery life. It will have all the looks and functions of a traditional analog watch with Bluetooth connectivity added in.

Even better, you’ll be able to avoid the overly technical look of some smartwatches with this model. Making it a perfect pair for more formal events.

Kickstarter veteran launches new HiddenHUB smart omnidirectional whole home audio system

Over the last few years, I have become a huge proponent of multi-room audio systems. The ability to play one song in unison across my home or hand-pick from a variety of sources in each space is one of my favorite technology advancements over the last few years. While AirPlay systems can be tweaked to recreate this setup, it doesn’t offer the same refined experience as SONOS and the like.

Kickstarter veteran, Hidden Radio Design, is back with a new whole home speaker system that actively accounts for the shape and size of each room. After raising over 1.6 million dollars on two prior campaigns, the focus has now shifted to the HiddenHUB, an omnidirectional speaker system that aims to knock off some of the biggest names in audio.

Sony’s new high-resolution headphones have a cringe-worthy name

sony-hear-headphones

IFA 2015 is well underway in Berlin and today Sony announced a new set of headphones design for high-resolution audio. With more and more consumers looking to enjoy their music at higher bit rates, it’s no surprise that Sony is making this move. The new h.ear – yes, that’s the name – headphones come in six colors all together: lime green, turquoise, red, pink, orange and black. This mixture of colors is a nice addition to Sony’s rather visually bland line-up of headphones.

The headphones feature 40mm HD drivers that hit sounds up to 60kHz with CCAW voice coils to smooth out high-pitched sounds. Additional highlights include: titanium-coated diaphragms, a foldable 8-ounce closed-back design and detachable cables.

Sony’s new headphones are set to launch in the United States in November with a $200 price tag.
