9to5Toys Specials currently has PhoneClean iOS Cleaner for $10. It is a great way to lose the clutter and speed up your iPhone or iPad.

App downloads are a centerpiece of owning an iOS device, but with each app comes a whole load of unwanted data and memory use. PhoneClean is an app for PC and Mac that helps you sweep out unused apps from your device, along with unwanted caches, cookies, messages and attachments, crash logs, and media files. It can also clean up your browsing history for speedier web surfing, and fix corrupt or partially synced files, such as music and video. As a safety net, PhoneClean backs up everything on your phone before every clearout, and if you have jailbroken your device, you can shrink the apps you want to keep by losing inessential components.

  • Finds and removes hidden temp, cookie, and cache files (temporarily incompatible with iOS 8.3)
  • Deletes private SMS, iMessage, MMS, as well as the associated pictures, audio and videos
  • Cleans up all your internet browsing history
  • Removes discarded emails and attachments for webmail
  • Gets rid of useless app crash logs and system notifications
  • Fixes corrupt and partially synced music, video, and other media files to make them playable
  • Removes unwanted apps, photos, outdated Notes, and Calendar events
  • Shrinks app sizes by removing all unnecessary files (for jailbroken devices)
  • Creates full backups prior to any cleaning action

Pick up PhoneClean at 74% off the standard price.

Dust off your Game Boy cartridges, this case will let you play them on your iPhone 6 Plus

hyperkin-smart-boy-iphone-new-01

Hyperkin, a company known for its retro gaming hardware and accessories, leaked some initial details and concept drawings for an upcoming Game Boy-style iPhone add-on recently. Initially considered an April Fools’ joke by many, and it partially was, but the company has since confirmed its validity:

“A lot of you were speculating that the Smart Boy is an April Fools’ Joke. Well, it sort of was. We “leaked” it with the initial intent of testing the market, seeing whether or not it should be something we’d actually make, under the guise of an April Fools’ Joke…Looks like you awesome folks ACTUALLY WANT IT, so the Smart Boy is now in development! Thank you all for your enthusiastic responses!”

As you can see, the Smart Boy smartphone peripheral is clearly a reality and currently in development. Head below to find out more about what it has to offer: Read more

Nostalgia runs high w/ the iOS release of DuckTales: Remastered

ducktales-ios-remaster

It’s a great time to be a gamer as we continue to see old classics re-made into new current gen games (as long as it’s legal!). The latest to get a modern re-hashing is the vintage DuckTales 8-bit game from the 80’s. Today, Disney has released DuckTales: Remastered as a universal iOS app that features all the original characters with some new storylines sprinkled in.

Gamers will be able to play as Scrooge McDuck in this re-make of the classic side-scrolling game as he journeys through different parts of the world. Follow along as he travels to far off places such as the Amazon, Transylvania, and the moon. The game features voice-overs from all the original actors, retaining the authentic experience of this 80’s classic. DuckTales: Remastered supports Bluetooth controllers and is available for download today with a $9.99 price tag. There is also a console version available as well for Wii U, PS3 and Xbox 360.
