Amazon Prime Day is quickly approaching now, scheduled to take flight in about one-month’s time with what is primed to be the biggest deal event of the year thus far. Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater has to be one of my most anticipated game releases of the year (or ever) – I grew up up playing these games, my X (Twitter) profile pic is a classic image of Snake, and, more importantly, GameStop might have just leaked the release date!!! A new trailer for the game debuted at the epic Xbox Game Showcase over the weekend – it looks incredible – and a new video featuring the game landed on the Konami YouTube channel today announcing the pre-orders (now live on Amazon on PS5 and Xbox, if you’re quick), and it looks like it might be releasing on November 17th! Details below. 

The main Summer Game Fest event is now behind us, Xbox hosted hosted a completely epic showcase over the weekend with the new all-digital white Series X and the Galaxy Black special edition model, but now it’s time for Ubisoft. The 2024 summer Ubisoft Forward showcase event is set to go live today with updates on what’s next for one of the industry’s biggest publisher/developers. Everything kicks off at 12:00 p.m. PT/3:00 p.m. ET and we will be following along with you down below. 

Today’s Xbox Game Showcase 2024 was loaded with exciting new world premieres and updates on fan-favorite franchises – DOOM: The Dark Ages, South of Midnight, a new METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER trailer, the Perfect Dark gameplay reveal, and the Gears of War: E-Day – as well as the official reveal of three new Xbox Series X|S consoles. We spotted leaked rumors and imagery previously on a potential all-white, all-digital Xbox Series X, and we now know it is indeed a real thing. It will also be joined by a new Series S configuration as well as the 2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition Series X. Head below for more details. 

While the 2024 Summer Game Fest seemed a far more tame and slightly less exciting event than year’s past, despite some major reveals and patented Keighley world premieres of course, the June gaming events are just starting and next up is Xbox. As we covered previously, Xbox announced its big summer event(s) back at the end of April and that day has now arrived. At the time we correctly guessed the double-feature Xbox is hosting today would be capped off with a Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Direct but that won’t air until after the main event goes live. It all starts today at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET and we will be watching along with you down below. 

Okay folks, here we go, it’s time to kick off this year’s major summer gaming showcases with Summer Game Fest, as promised. Summer Game Fest, and especially today’s main event, has quickly become one of the more exciting shows of the season, combining titles across all major platforms from a giant collection of publishers and developers – 55 of them in fact. This is clearly not going to be some small-time show, despite organizer and host Geoff Keighley suggesting it was a lighter year. Either way, we are in for two straight hours of reveals, trailers, announcements, gameplay footage, and, probably, some Hideo Kojima. We already featured the Bose Father’s Day sale – it went live quite early – but Amazon has been getting scrappy with some of the deals and knocking prices down even lower. First we saw the latest Bose QuietComfort Ultra ANC Earbuds hit the best Amazon price ever at $239 and now it’s time for the new flagship Bose Smart Ultra Soundbar. It saw a solid $100 price drop in the Father’s Day sale, but Amazon just knocked another $50 off for a $749 shipped total. Also matched directly at Bose. This is a $899 intelligent Bose sound bar that is now sitting at the best price we have ever tracked on Amazon. Just ahead of the 35th anniversary of the beloved Game Boy landing stateside, Nintendo is continuing the celebration with a host of new games for its handheld Switch Online library. Following the release of Wrecking Crew ’98, Nintendo finally brought the original Super Mario Land to its Game Boy library for members, and now it’s time from some serious Robot Master blasting Blue Bomber action with five classic Mega Man titles. The best prices of the year are now back on Apple Studio Display. Both models regularly carry a $1,599 price tag and are once again seeing a solid $299 price drop today at Amazon. Well, the day has finally arrived as Sony has officially confirmed PlayStation VR2 PC support. After leaks detailing some sort of adapter to enable the long-awaited feature surfaced, Sony has now officially unveiled a new add-on allowing gamers to “expand their game library with thousands of SteamVR titles,” albeit for an extra fee and with a limited feature set. Samsung’s lineup of monitors, no matter what operating system you prefer, have been a popular solution for just about everyone over the last few years or more, be it the Smart Monitors loaded with built-in hubs, webcams, and onboard streaming support, the ViewFinity family, or even its impressive Odyssey OLED gaming monitors. After being (sort of) unveiled last month, the new ASUS ROG Ally X PC gaming handheld is now officially available for pre-order ahead of launch on July 22. The official Bose Father’s Day sale is now live. While identical the Memorial Day event that just ended, the deals are continuing nonetheless. The latest QuietComfort earbuds, the new QuietComfort headphones at $100 off, and the latest Smart Soundbars are all on sale right now. The new boombox-style SoundLink Max isn’t getting any deals just yet, nor are the new Bose Ultra Open Earbuds, but those aren’t the big-ticket Bose items anyway really are they? Fans of the Silent Hill series are on for treat this evening as Konami has announced the next Silent Hill Transmission showcase. Clearly the bulk 4-pack deal delivers the best value here at just over $5 per TagVault, but even the singles are slightly under our previous mention and within less than $1 of the Black Friday price last year. I most certainly have raved enough about the Elevation Lab AirTag gear – it is my favorite, easily the best I have tested out, and lands on your doorstep at a more than affordable price. As the name suggests, the TagVault Surface delivers an IP68 waterproof housing that easily screws on and off like a contact lens case and “installs in seconds with premium 3M VHB adhesive” – you might even have to use a hair dryer to get it off.
