Wakē uses infrared sensors and parametric speakers to peacefully wake up one person at a time

We’ve all been there – your partner has an early meeting or prefers to get up before you do, the screeching alarm wakes you up, disrupting a wonderful night of sleep. Humans have searched for years to try to solve this problem without much success. While companies such as Philips have attempted to replicate a sunrise-like wakening experience, it is ultimately just a light that turns on slowly at a pre-set time.

A new Kickstarter program is aiming to change all that with infrared sensors, a parametric speaker and smartphone connectivity…

Blizzard’s latest multiplayer brawler Heroes of the Storm heads to open beta & gets official release date

We’ve built Heroes of the Storm in a way that makes it accessible to new players, but also challenging enough for veterans who really want to put their skills to the test. We can’t wait to see whatHeroes brings to the co-op and competitive scenes once the Nexus opens up to everyone.

The ever expanding free-to-play title will launch with 30 playable (and customizable) characters, 7 battlegrounds, as well as your typical game modes like quick versus matches, co-op play against computer controlled enemies and “draft-style ranked play” for competitive players.

Here’s a look at the new Lara Croft: Relic Run title for iOS and Android

Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have teamed up with mobile game developer Simutronics on a brand new Tomb Raider title for iOS and Android. Already being test run by users in the Netherlands as of this morning, the brand new Lara Croft: Relic Run is set to hit the rest of the world in “the coming months“, according to a post on the official Tomb Raider Tumblr page this morning.

As you have likely guessed, it is another endless runner title complete with all the usual Tomb Raider fixings including what the developer calls “seamless transitions between acrobatic-inspired running, combat, vehicles, and epic boss fights, including but not limited to the return of the infamous T-Rex.“

It will be a free-to-play title once it does launch here in North America for iOS, Android and Windows Phone. For those of us outside of the Netherlands, there does appear to be a few videos on Youtube showing off some gameplay.

Roomlia hotel savings app adds loyalty program: stay 7 nights, get 1 free

Site default logo image

The popular Roomlia hotel savings application for iOS and Android is today launching an interesting new loyalty program. Basically, if you stay 7 nights, you will get a night free.

In order to get to that free night, the application will add up the amount you paid each night for your first 7 nights, and then it will credit you back the average. In most cases, this will obviously work out to an eight night free.

The cool parts about the program, which differentiate it from competitors, are that these are actual nights, not days, and the nights can be combined. You don’t need to stay 7 nights in a row to get the credit back toward an either night. You can stay for 3 nights during one trip, and 4 nights on another trip to get up to the 7.

The app is developed by a team made up of former Expedia developers, the application actually has some great deals that beat out some of the competition.

New hotels and supported cities are added each week, and users can book rooms up to 7 days in advance, for up to 5 nights at a time.

The application is free on iOS and Android, and the new loyalty card system launches today.

Xbox One AC Unity bundle w/ Halo MCC & 3-months Live $350, PS4 w/ Last of Us & 2 games $399 ($70+ in savings)

On top of the day’s best game and app deals, we have a couple notable console bundles on sale for both the PlayStation and Xbox crowds. Newegg via eBay Daily Deals is offering the Xbox One Assassin’s Creed Unity bundle with the Halo Master Chief Collection and 3 months of Xbox Live Gold attached for $349.99 shipped. This is the best current value available on Xbox One, considering most retailers charge this price without the 3 months of Live ($17+ value) and without the extra game ($40 value).

Next up, Walmart is offering The Last of Us PlayStation 4 bundle with two additional games today (Destiny, Watch Dogs, Shadow of Mordor, Need for Speed: Rivals + many other choices) for $399 shipped. While maybe not as desirable for some as the recent Bloodborne bundle simply due to the game’s recent release, today’s deal is the best current value available and is as much as $70+ in savings considering the value of the two additional games.

Be sure to take a peak at the recently revealed Limited Edition Batman: Arkham Knight PlayStation 4 and this month’s freebies from Sony and Microsoft. Play Super Mario 64 in beautiful HD for free in your browser

Update (3/31 2:35pm): It appears as though the folks over at Nintendo weren’t too happy about the HD remake. Links to access Super Mario 64 HD are all shutdown at this point.

Many of us still remember the release of the now iconic Super Mario 64 back in the mid 90’s. Since then the game has garnered a massive following and is widely considered to be one of the most influential video games of all time. Even though the game holds up quite well after so many years, those N64 graphics don’t look as pretty as they used to. So developer Erik Roystan Ross decided to take it upon himself to recreate the beloved game’s first level in full HD using the Unity game engine.

While not a complete replica of the original, it is certainly much prettier and will be very familiar to fans of the game. It is complete with many of the enemies and obstacles from the original, and best of all, you can play for free right now on your Mac, PC or Linux machine (with gamepad support). It is also available right in the browser if you have the free Unity player installed. While there were previously some server overload issues, Ross’ blog states that new hosting has been provided.

Be sure to check out our ongoing Nintendo deals as well. We currently have some deeply discounted amiibo figures and rarely discounted 3DS titles still live from over the weekend.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8-2TF3Okyw

More notes/technical stuff from the developer:

Demonstration project for the Super Character Controller, a recreation of Super Mario 64’s first level, Bob-Omb Battlefield. Everything is just as you remember, except some really minor stuff that nobody cared about like red coins or the Wing Cap or the Big Bob-omb. Replacing them are crowd pleasers like giant springs and coin blocks.

Gamepad support is available, so if you have one make sure to open the controls menu to set it up (keyboard controls are default). I’ve tested it with the Xbox One, Xbox 360, and DualShock 3 and 4. If any of these do not work, please post a comment below describing your situation. Likewise, if you use a gamepad that I did not list and it did work, please mention it so I can add it to the list.

Nintendo deals: amiibo figures 25% off, Mario/Donkey Kong/Animal Crossing 3DS games $25, eShop 10% off

Anyone who knows me (or follows me), knows that I’ve got a bit of an amiibo problem. I started out just looking to get Donkey and Diddy Kong since they are my favorite Nintendo characters. Then I got sucked into the amiibo vortex. Now, amiibo figures are peppered throughout my office. Sure I love how each figure can unlock exclusive in-game content, but I’ve got to admit the real draw for me is just how cool they look.

Now’s the time to get into the action if you’ve been sitting on the sidelines of the amiibo craze. Target is taking 25% off all in-stock amiibo figures online and in-store. Typically priced at $12.99 each, this sale drops the final price down to $9.74. REDcard holders will save an additional 5% and get free shipping on all orders. All other buyers will need to spend $25+ to sidestep shipping costs.

It’s no secret that Nintendo makes the best games for its consoles. The only problem is that they are rarely discounted. But right now Best Buy (matched at Amazon) has various Nintendo 3DS titles on sale. Gamers Club Unlocked members can save an additional 20% off the purchase price.

Standouts include:

We’re hearing some Target locations may have these titles marked all the way down to $14.99 (an amazing price) so it may be worth stopping by your local store.

Nintendo eShop sells downloadable current generation and virtual console (NES, SNES, Game Boy Advance) games, DLC, entertainment, and more. Just like Nintendo games, eShop gift cards rarely go on sale. Now’s the time to stock up while Best Buy is discounting $10, $20, $30, and $50 eShop gift cards by 10%.

Sony announces free multiplayer weekend for all PS4 owners

Sony has announced via the official PlayStation Blog that it will be kicking off another free multiplayer weekend for all PS4 owners starting this Friday. Traditionally a $50 per year membership to PlayStation Plus is required to play online, but starting March 20th at midnight (12:01am PT) until March 22nd at midnight (11:59pm PT), all PS4 owners will be able to access multiplayer for free.

Sony is running this promotion just in time for the recent launch of GTA Online Heists and the release of new multiplayer modes coming to EA’s “cops & criminals” Battlefield spin-off, Hardline.

For those that already know they want a Plus membership (or need to renew one) and have access to Visa Checkout, we have 1 year cards for $37 in today’s game roundup. As you might know, Plus members not only get access to discounts across PlayStation Store, but also a rotating list of free titles. You’ll find all of this month’s freebies here.

Get started with Tile Bluetooth iOS/Android item trackers for $20 Prime shipped (20% off)

Tile came out competitively priced at $25 per tracker, but the price hasn’t really budged since its release. You could opt to buy a multi-pack to get a lower per tracker price, but that’s not helpful if you’re just looking to try it out.

Our first documented price drop on a single Tile tracker is your opportunity to get into the game: Amazon is currently charging just $19.99 for one, a drop of 20% from its regular price of $25.

Tile helps you keep track of the things that matter most to you. Attach it to your keys, TV remote, suitcase, iPad and then you’ll be able to keep tabs on the item within a 100 ft. radius. Tile also remembers the last known location of a lost item so you’ll have a helpful starting point in locating lost items outside Tile’s reach. The iOS/Android app supports up to 8 Tiles.
