Virtual reality may be all the rage right now in video games, but there’s still a ton of love for 2D classics. Emulators and Nintendo’s Virtual Console do a good job of replicating the retro gaming experience. However, at the end of the day, it’s just not the same.
Luckily, 8bitdo and Analogue have once again teamed up to help bridge the gap between modern and old school gaming. The hardcover book is packed full of retrospective analysis and information on many of Nintendo’s most iconic characters, games and personnel. You can also expect hand-drawn maps, characters, environment art and a series of vintage Nintendo ads, along with “excerpts” from back issues of Nintendo Power magazine.

About two weeks ago, Nintendo made a huge splash with the announcement of its upcoming NES Classic Edition console. And rightly so. The Sega Mega Drive Classic will first be available in Europe this fall and will hopefully be making its way stateside shortly after with over 40 classic games.

Head below for more details:

All major retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart, Newegg and more are all listing these bundles down at $249 or less.
