As part of today’s 2026 summer Xbox Games Showcase, the new XBOX 25th Anniversary Console and Controller have been revealed ahead of launch this November. 

The massive summer Xbox Games Showcase is live today folks. While Xbox has already confirmed that Project Helix (its next-generation console) will not be making an appearance in any significant way today, that means it’s going to be all about the games, and what sounds like a lot of them. 

June has arrived and that means the biggest gaming showcases of the year are inbound very soon. June typically houses the summer showcases from all of the biggest publishers, platforms, and more, with the massive hour+ long broadcasts from PlayStation, Xbox, and more already set in stone. Head below for a rundown of when all of the biggest game reveals of the summer will be going live this month and more details on the potentially upcoming summer Nintendo Direct.

Nintendo historically hosts a big Direct in June, but last year things were seemingly shifted because of the Switch 2 launch and this left expectations up in the air for 2026. However, industry insiders claimed we were getting something along those lines this month, and one of them just doubled down to confirm/leak the date. 

While we are still waiting an official release date on FromSoft’s Switch 2 exclusive, The Duskbloods, ready your swords my fells Tarnished warriors, you will officially be heading back to The Lands Between in just two months time – the release date for Elden Ring Tarnished Edition on Switch 2 has been revealed. 

Just after Nintendo teased all-new official LEGO Donkey Kong sets, Nintendo announced the classic Donkey Kong 64 for Switch Online, and that day is here. The 1999 release is now live and playable in the Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Classics library for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members. 

The rumors and leaks were true, Sony just revealed a complete in-depth gameplay look at the new God of War Laufey game from Santa Monica studios. This very much looks like the leaks – Faye is the antagonists and we have 20 minutes of uninterrupted gameplay below (this is how you show a game off folks). 

The summer PlayStation State of Play showcase goes live today. We get more than a few State of Play broadcasts per year, but none quite as big as the big June show, and it all starts very soon. 

Nintendo surprised just about everyone last moth with a dedicated Star Fox Direct showcase out of nowhere. The new Switch 2 cinematic remake of the N64 game is officially set for release on June 25 and Nintendo has just unleashed a new Overview Trailer via the Nintendo Today app. 

Just ahead of tomorrow’s giant summer PlayStation games showcase, Sony has taken to the official PlayStation Blog to finally unleash the pre-order and launch deals for its upcoming hardware – the FlexStrike wireless fight stick, the official new gaming monitor, and the Pulse Elevate wireless speakers. 

Sony officially announced the 2026 Days of Play Sale yesterday, just as we expected, and everything is going live today. The annual celebration features hundreds of digital game deals, price drops on physical PS5 games at Amazon and other major retailers, a rare deal on Ghost of Yotei at Walmart and Amazon, as well as deals on PS5 controllers, PS VR2, and more – it all goes live today.

Nintendo didn’t just announce the major Nintendo Direct we are waiting for, but most assume it’s coming and several industry insiders are suggesting it’s going to be bigger than World 4 in SMB3. I’m not so certain, but there is a very good chance, based on leaks, rumors, and historical analysis, that something big is coming from the Mario Zelda maker.

It was starting to seem like we might not get a reveal until Summer Game Fest, but it is that time of year and Activision has now officially revealed this year’s Call of Duty release, and it is also releasing on Switch 2. 

Nintendo has officially announced Donkey Kong 64 for the Nintendo 64 Switch Online library. DK, Diddy, Lanky, Tiny, Chunky, and the DK Rap will arrive on Nintendo Classics in one week’s time in glorious 64 bit. 

A remake of the beloved Ubisoft platformer has leaked online and is expected to see an official announcement as soon as next week. 

While it’s not the release date for The Witcher 4 you might have been waiting for, CD PROJEKT RED has now officially announced a third expansion for the brilliant Witcher 3 to enjoy in the meantime. 

The 2026 PlayStation Days of Play sale has been officially announced. Sony has taken to the official PlayStation Blog to reveal details on the annual sale event and we have everything for you below. 

Remember the days when we used to get some seriously great deals on gaming consoles for holiday events and Black Friday? No? Well, I’m old enough to remember those days, and realistic enough to know they are long gone, at least for now. While some of the big Switch 2 game leaks have now come true, there are still some major rumors still up in the air. One Nintendo game that did not leak ahead of time is the quirky new Pictonico! that was just revealed and is now set for release next week. 

Last week, Nintendo officially announced the new Nintendo Switch 2: Choose Your Game Bundle offer, and it is now available for purchase – this basically the best and only deal on Switch 2.  

The barrage of price hikes continue, and just after Nintendo announced the price of Switch 2 was going up, as well as Switch Online in select regions, Sony is now following suite with PlayStation Plus. 

Are GTA VI preorders going live today? When do Grand Auto 6 preorders start? Well, Best Buy said it was today, but Rockstar has been entirely quiet, and a leaked email suggests the wait continues. 

GTA 6 pre-orders are set to start today, according to Best Buy. We are yet to get official word from Rockstar, according to one of the country’s biggest retailers, the latest entry for one of the biggest games of the last decade will go up for pre-order today ahead of the scheduled fall release date – but we will believe it when we see it.

Just hours after images of Microsoft’s alleged upcoming cloud gaming control leaked online, it appears as though we are also getting an early look at the next-generation Xbox Elite 3 Controller. 

We are quickly approaching the 1-year anniversary of the Nintendo Classics GameCube library on Switch 2. While have had a relatively steady stream of titles added since then, it has been two months since Nintendo delivered a new title to the service and it’s time to check in on all of the confirmed titles and what the next Game Cube game will be. 

Just after its official launch in mid February and a couple of new additions for Mario Day a month later, Nintendo has now announced five new titles for Virtual Boy Nintendo Classics. 

It has been years since Grand Theft Auto 6 was announced, and now, two early trailers later and after a couple of release date delays, it appears as though Best Buy just made a giant mistake, or GTA 6 pre-orders start next week.

The 30th anniversary of the original Pokémon titles is still in full swing with the launch of the new Pokémon Deluxe Character Guide compendium and the Limited Edition Box Set Collection, both bow available for pre-order on Amazon. 

Nintendo has just decided to reveal a new updated for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. While not some giant expansion you might be hoping for, the now 3-year old release is getting an epic new amiibo though and some in-game goodies along with it. 

Nintendo had a giant 2025 with the launch of its next-generation console, record-breaking sales, and some top-tier game releases. This year has been a bit of a down turn – as the new Super Mario Galaxy Movie caught fire at the box office, Switch 2 sales have slowed, all of its big announcements for 2026 might have already leaked, and the stock price is dropping. It’s not all bad news though, and it has now confirmed there are still some as of yet (officially) announced first-party titles set to launch this year for its new console. 

Well, as much as as we hoped it wouldn’t, I guess we all sort of knew it was gong to happen eventually – Nintendo has now officially announced price increases on Nintendo Switch 2. 

The leaks at Nintendo have been wild this year. From the now confirmed Star Fox game and a potentially upcoming remake of Zelda Ocarina of Time, not everything has come true just yet, but much of it has, and a Switch 2 version of Hell is Us is one of them.

In case you somehow missed it, there has been a massive leak over at Nintendo. Somebody is stealing all of the Mushroom Kingdom’s biggest secrets and leaking them all over the internet. As exciting as some of this leaked information is, I almost hope it’s all fake and Nintendo completely surprises everyone over the next few months. 

Dbrand has just launched its latest Switch 2 accessory – a ratcheting, articulating Joy-Con holder. The new customizable grip focuses on “the one limitation” in all controller holders – fixed ergonomics. It is available now for $19.95.

There is definitely a leaky warp pipe somewhere within Nintendo right now, as any avid switch gamer already knows, and a new, albeit quite cryptic, rumor suggests a new 2D Zelda game announcement is all but imminent.
