CES 2019 is just around the corner in Las Vegas and many of the major players are already beginning to unveil their new products ahead of next week. Samsung is announcing a host of new monitors today including one unlike we’ve ever seen before. The new Space display sits directly flush against your wall with a design borrowed from its line of TVs. We’re also getting our first glimpse at a new UltraWide monitor geared towards gamers along with a handful of other releases. Head below for more details.
Back at the end of November, Samsung announced the latest in its line of internal computer storage. The new 860 QVO SATA III 2.5-inch Internal Solid State Drive launched with a mission of being a more affordable way to add at least 1TB of storage to your machine. Touting a more budget-conscious price, Samsung’s latest SSD isn’t without its trade-offs. Head below for a more in-depth look and to see how the drives stack up.
Back in 2015 Samsung first unveiled its Serif TVs, which at the time seemed like a radical departure from what had become the standard design of the last decade. In the years since, Samsung has tweaked this design in several ways. After adding 4K two years ago, we’re now getting our first glimpse of what the TV manufacturer plans to do with these models for CES 2019. The Samsung Serif and Frame lines will be refreshed with new QLED panels in Las Vegas next month. Head below for more info.
With less than two weeks until the biggest shopping event of the year, just about every major retailer has gotten in on the Black Friday festivities. This morning following the Sam’s Club’s ad reveal, we’re getting a look at what Samsung plans to offer shoppers leading up to November 23rd. Head below for the top Samsung Black Friday ad offerings as well as the full ad scan.
Earlier this year Samsung announced that it would be selling “the world’s first” consumer-focused 8K TV. Well, consumers that can afford a $15,000 display. Samsung has been working on this release for some time. While you won’t expect to see 8K content any time soon, there is a substantial amount of tech packed in here that promises a next-level viewing experience. The Samsung Q900R not only delivers ultra high-resolution capabilities, but the panel is 85-inches in size. That makes it easily one of the largest TVs out there and you can now put one in your living room.
Earlier this year Samsung released a new pair of Bluetooth sound bars in the first partnership with Harman Kardon. Now less than a month later, the company is turning to another industry-leading audio manufacturer, AKG, to debut a triad of new variably featured Bluetooth headphones. Head below to get the full scoop.
It is highly likely that when you hear people talk about tracking keys or backpacks your mind instantly thinks of Tile. This is because Tile has been working on its trackers since 2012 and saw huge success when launching its crowdfunding campaign with pre-orders from over 50,000 backers by mid-2013. If you own a Tile tracker, you likely know that it has distance restrictions due the range of Bluetooth. In most cases this is fine when trying to find something nearby, but there would be a lot more use cases if the range could be extended. And that is exactly what Samsung has set out to do with its new SmartThings Tracker.

Thunderbolt 3 is an amazing technology. It can carry power, data, and display over a single cable. Made popular with Apple’s MacBook Pro lineup, this technology is finally making its way into more devices around the world.
Earlier this year, Samsung announced the CJ79 34-inch curved UltraWide monitor with Thunderbolt 3. Today, this monitor is available for purchase worldwide. Could this be your next monitor (or mine)?
We’re already a day into Gamescom 2018 and we’ve already gotten a glimpse at the latest hardware releases like ASUS’s new TUF Gaming Laptops and Microsoft’s Xbox Design Lab controllers. Now Samsung is getting in on the action, debuting a pair of new curved monitors with a 144Hz refresh rate to give gamers an edge.
As of late, mesh Wi-Fi systems have been taking the home networking world by storm, pushing just about every player in the space to release a system of their own. Samsung is by no means new to mesh technology, and today, it has announced an updated version of its popular SmartThings Mesh Wi-Fi System with a refreshed design and equally noteworthy spec improvements.
It seems that no matter how much storage we attain, we are always left wanting more. In the early days of computing, storage capacities were measured in megabytes and kilobytes. Over time we have not only adapted to most laptops and desktops packing gigabytes and terabytes of storage, we now live in a world where smartphones with half a terabyte of storage actually exist. Each time larger capacity drives come out, early adopters pay high prices to get their hands on them. Within a year or so after release, pricing begins to drop as manufacturers discover ways to cut costs. While Samsung has had highly priced 4TB solid state drives available for over 2 years, the company’s latest advancements will make these storage capacities more affordable.

UltraWide is the new 16×9 when it comes to monitors, but some companies take it to the extreme. Both Samsung and Philips offer a 32:9 49-inch monitor (behemoth, insanity, call it whatever you like), and that’s just too wide. While I love my 21:9 35-inch UltraWide monitor, I’ve been wanting something slightly larger, but not quite as large as the Samsung or Philips 49-inch offering.
Well, Samsung now makes a 32:10 43-inch curved monitor and that seems slightly more manageable. Though the previous Samsung 49-inch was locked at a 1080p resolution, this new 43-inch offering has a slightly higher pixel density with a 3840×1200 resolution. With this higher resolution, a built-in KVM switch, a 120Hz refresh rate, and more, could Samsung’s 43-inch C43J89 be my next monitor?
T-Mobile is currently offering a large sale on smartphones for back-to-school. Headlined by buy-one-get-one FREE iPhone X/8/7/Plus when porting in a new line of service and trading in a device, you can save up to $700 with this offer. Starting next week, T-Mobile will also be discounting the iPhone 6S to under $100 (with a total discount of over $300), but specific pricing is yet-to-be-announced.
Just over a year ago, Samsung introduced its new ‘The Frame’ TV, which blurs line the between electronics and artwork for a different type of home theater experience. The second generation lineup was announced today by Samsung with upgraded features and an even slimmer design that looks to blend into your decor even further. More below.
Whether looking at massive new hard drives or even faster and energy-efficient SSDs, storage technology has made significant leaps as of late. And yesterday one of the world’s leading manufacturers in memory and storage, Samsung, has announced its latest high-capacity solid state drive. The new NVMe NF1 SSD manages to pack a massive 8TB of storage into a compact form-factor boasting state-of-the-art performance with optimizations that make the new drive ideal for enterprise customers and data centers.
From $100As part of its Memorial Day Sale, Best Buy is currently offering several notable TV deals. Our favorite from the sale is TCL’s 65-inch 4K Roku-enabled Smart UHDTV for $629.99 shipped. Normally $700, this is one of the best prices we’ve tracked recently on TCL’s 65-inch 4K UHDTV. Ratings are thin here, but TCL is well-rated at both Best Buy and Amazon.
One year after revealing new theater display technology at CinemaCon, Samsung has officially launched its new movie theater experience. They are calling it, “Onyx”. Up to this point, theaters have been known for using projectors to display their films, but Samsung hopes to change that with the release of Onyx.

Both drives arrive on the scene with a M.2 form-factor designed to handle high-end content-focused work loads via the PCIe Gen 3×4 lane interface. More below.
Earlier this week we told you about LG’s new OLED TV lineup, which is set to offer some of the most affordable price points we’ve seen on these wildly popular displays. Skip forward to today and Samsung is ready to spill its TV plans for 2018. To no surprise, QLED is once again a buzzword for the Asia-based company that is still looking to shore up its market share in this category.
A focus on ultra-thin bezels and slim designs are complemented by the inclusion of Samsung’s in-house Bixby voice assistant. All told, there are four new models making an appearance in 2018 with varying prices and features. And yes, curved displays are still a thing, at least as far as Samsung is concerned.

Update 1/23: Samsung has officially announced the 860 Pro and 860 Evo consumer SSDs. Storage sizes range from 256GB to the rumored (and now confirmed) 4TB, with prices going from $139.99 for 256GB Pro to $1,899.99 for the 4TB Pro model. Samsung’s 860 Evo 256GB starts at a much more approachable price of $99.99. As expected, the 860 Pro drives feature up to 560/530 MB/s speeds and come with Samsung’s normal 5-year warranty.
SSDs are becoming more commonplace in everyday life now, and I’m super excited about that. One of the best upgrades computers have received in recent memory is not faster processors, graphics cards, or RAM. It’s storage, and that is mainly because you can request data as much as you want, but unless your storage drive can keep up, you’re out of luck.
T-Mobile loves giving back to its customers, it seems. They have T-Mobile Tuesdays and it seems the “Un-Carrier” is always looking for new things to do. Well, right now they’re doing buy one get one free iPhone, Samsung, and LG phones. If you buy a qualifying device, T-Mobile is giving you a device of equal or lesser value free via a prepaid MasterCard.
Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 is shaping up to be a very fine phone, but it’s also an extremely expensive phone. The device costs a whopping $930 if purchased outright, and while it is one of the most powerful Android smartphones of the year, that’s still an awfully large chunk of change to part with for a new gadget. Thankfully, T-Mobile is making the Note 8 a lot more affordable with its latest promotion.
