Alongside the second generation of its Fitbit Versa fitness tracker, Fitbit has unveiled its latest smart scale: Aria Air. This new fitness accessory fits right into the Fitbit lineup as a supplement to help users better understand their weight, heart health, and various other measurables. Of course, it also plays into Fitbit’s new “premium” subscription plan that “gives you access to added data, information, and motivation to more effectively reach your health and wellness goals.” Hit the jump for more on the new Fitbit Aria Air.
This morning Fitbit has announced its newest wearable, the Charge 3. Fitbit’s latest fitness tracker takes the previous generation design and adds an upgraded display, swim tracking and a handful of other new features. Its case and band look similar to the Charge 2, but Fitbit has actually made a number of changes to the casing. That includes a new Gorilla Glass 3 front and an aluminum body. More details below.
Alongside this morning’s introduction of the new Fitbit Versa, we’re also getting our first look at Fitbit’s new kid-focused wearable. In fact, the Ace is the company’s inaugural attempt at a fitness tracker designed for ages eight and up. Fitbit is leaning heavily on its Alta wearable here, with a familiar look alongside smaller bands made to fit tinier wrists.
Parents will note that some data has been removed from the usual dashboard in an attempt to focus on movement and less on measurables like calories burned. Fitbit’s focus here is to build strong habits in kids from a young age, encouraging active lifestyles. More below.

Despite wearing a Moto 360 with fitness tracking features for the past year, I continued to use a Fitbit on a daily basis. A fitness tracker from the San Francisco-based company has been on my body for the better part of the last four years, and in February, Fitbit announced a fashion-oriented fitness band called the Alta that particularly caught my eye. I had to give it a shot.
After just a week of usage, the $130 retail Fitbit Alta has completely replaced my full featured Android Wear device and I’ve come to realize that less is more. At least for me, the Alta has proven — and this has been echoed many times over at 9to5Google — that the fundamental features of actionable notifications and apps on a smartwatch are a convenience that can easily be lived without.
