Each year, one of the most eagerly-awaited LEGO sets comes from the Creator Expert line. The yearly release of a new modular building excites fans looking to expand their cities with detailed new creations. The latest in LEGO’s series of Creator Expert buildings continues the theme of last year’s release. The 1950’s-style Downtown Diner set did a phenomenal job capturing the retro aesthetic, and LEGO is looking to keep that theme going this time around.

December 1st has finally arrived, which means for many that the winter holiday celebrations can truly begin. With LEGO’s new Pop-Up Book kit rolling out over the past few weeks, we haven’t seen much on the Ideas front this month. LEGO has also been busy dominating the holiday shopping charts. Update 11/2 @ 5:00 PM: LEGO and Blizzard have officially debuted all six of the upcoming Overwatch kits. They’ll be available on January 1st, with preorders now available direct from LEGO. The kits will sell for the prices that we announced before.

Since we first got wind of LEGO and Blizzard’s partnership to release official Overwatch sets, we’ve been eagerly-awaiting the full roster of kits. The two companies teased 2019’s lineup with the debut of an exclusive Omnic Bastion kit, but other details were nowhere to be see. That is until now. Thanks to Target jumping the gun, we’ve gotten a look at all six sets from the LEGO Overwatch line. Head below for a closer look.

Just a few months ago, LEGO Ideas announced that it would be evaluating ten different crowd-funded builds to see which would have the honor of becoming full-blown kits. To make room in its lineup for new and upcoming releases, LEGO periodically retires older kits. Rarely does one of LEGO’s discontinued models ever go back into production. Last year’s remake of the Taj Mahal being one of the few notable exceptions. Today, yet another mid-2000s set is getting a re-release, the Creator Expert Vestas Wind Turbine. In the past few years of LEGO releases, the company’s lineup has been defined by a two-fold focus: releasing larger, more part-intensive kits packed with eye-catching details alongside expanding its lineup of offerings by bringing in as many partnerships with existing IPs as possible. LEGO’s most recent release just so happens to fit into both categories, with the all-new Aston Martin DB5 packing many iconic features and details from the James Bond franchise, the first LEGO kit to tie in with the famous spy flicks. 

As we reported last week, LEGO debuted its most recent kit in partnership with the British luxury sports car manufacturer, Aston Martin. Stacking up to just under 1,300 pieces, the 007-themed DB5 is sure to be one of this year’s must-have sets. Luckily we got our hands on it prior to widespread release and will be diving in to see if the brick-built recreation of the iconic ride stacks up to a gadget worthy of the famous secret agent or if Q should have just left this one in the shop.
