Roku announces $200 wireless speakers for its Roku-enabled TVs

Complaints about built-in TV speakers aren’t anything new. Soundbars have been around for a number of years, and new innovation is happening in that market as well. The Sonos Beam is one of the latest entrants in that market. It’s designed to be able to fit in more places as it’s only 25.6 inches, so it won’t hang off furniture or block the TV at all. But Sonos will face even more competition now from set-top box maker, Roku.

Hands-on: Show Mode Charging Dock brings Alexa to your Fire HD in a beautiful way

Amazon’s Echo Show and Echo Spot have garnered mixed reviews, from people not sure if they want to put an all-knowing camera in their home to those who absolutely loved it because it gave them their beloved Echo with a built-in display. The Echo Show, however, is somewhat limited (and normally expensive).

Until now, the Echo Show or Spot have been the only way to get Alexa on a screen (besides using Fire TV). However, Amazon recently released the Show Mode Charging Dock for Fire HD 10 and Fire HD 8 and it offers one of the best ways to experience Alexa on the big screen, in my opinion.

Nintendo hopes to bolster the Switch’s library with 20 to 30 new indie titles per week

One of the biggest fears after the Switch’s initial announcement was that Nintendo’s latest console wouldn’t have any big system-selling titles. It was arguably the biggest problem facing its predecessor, the Wii U, an issue which loomed over the Switch well past its release. But now well over a year later, it’s pretty safe to say that Nintendo and the third-party developers that they worked with have been able to put together one of the most appealing lineups in the industry.

But Nintendo has no intention of slowing down, as the company is hoping to bolster the Switch’s game lineup with anywhere from 20 to 30 new titles each week for the foreseeable future.

Nerf’s new Laser Ops Pro system brings laser tag into the 21st century w/ AR, more

Nerf was one of my favorite pastimes as a child. Running around the yard with blasters and pockets full of darts while wearing vests that they stuck to will forever be ingrained in my mind as wonderful memories. Another great experience I had as a kid was laser tag. Though systems were generally too pricey to use at home, I always enjoyed outings that allowed me to play that wonderful game.

Nerf has now combined the two system, as it’s done before, but this time using smartphone-based gameplay and even giving users a single player mode, something that most laser tag sets lacked. There’s not always other person to play with, so a single player mode is really welcomed here. Dubbed the Laser Ops Pro line, Nerf’s new system could help children create great memories like mine once again.
