Nintendo has a track record for shipping incredible games, many of which cash in on nostalgia since the company still produces follow-up games for series that initially got their start on NES. Metroid is one of them.
At E3 2017, Nintendo created a ton of excitement for its fans when announcing that a new Metroid game was in the works for its Switch console. Aside from providing the name Metroid Prime 4, the company did not share many details. Since then, information about the game has been lacking, with an explanation of why hitting the web earlier today.

Metroid Prime, Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Super Mario Sunshine are just a few titles on a long list of nostalgic GameCube releases that immediately came to mind when I saw this epic Nintendo Switch dock mod posted on Reddit.
At first glance, you might think that Reddit user Littlewolf128 simply cut a chunk of the GameCube out and placed his Nintendo Switch inside. As it turns out, the OP went to great lengths to ensure that even the original gamecube controller ports function after the surgery.

A recent discovery has shown that 22 of the system’s titles may be coming to the service sometime in the future.

Perhaps one of the things that Nintendo is best-known for is its ability to cash in on nostalgia. If this was not evident before, the company’s NES and SNES classic console releases over the past couple of years have certainly highlighted it. The Nintendo Switch has made its fair share of hacker headlines since its release in 2017. Within about a year, jailbreaks allowed for custom apps to run on the system. Fresh off of last week’s announcement of new themed Gamecube controllers for the Switch, Hori is back with yet another new accessory. Wrapped in sleek Mario and Zelda-themed designs, Hori’s new controller brings the D-Pad back to Nintendo’s hybrid console.
Nintendo has an incredibly successful console generation with the Switch. The console has smashed records all over the place and is nearing 20 million in total sales. All of that sounds pretty impressive but the numbers have started to slide over the last quarter or so. After reporting 2.93 million and 7.23 million units sold in the previous two quarters, sales have slowed down to 1.88 million in the most recent three-month period. That number is still quite high, especially considering it’s the slowest time of year for console sales and the company hasn’t been cranking out as many big-time titles. However, Nintendo is going need an amazing holiday this year in order to meet its sales projections.
