After leaked PSN listings in Germany and early footage of the game all over YouTube well ahead of the actual annoucenment, we now know Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is a thing. Featuring one of the most talked about and infamous campaigns in gaming history, the new remaster only includes the single player portion of the 2009 Modern Warfare sequel. Howard Stern has now announced free SiriusXM for all. A new Final Fantasy tactics game is launching today on iOS and Android. Known as War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, this is a new tactical RPG set in the Final Fantasy Brave Exvius world that combines turn-based battles with loads of collectibles, fully-voiced cut scenes, and much more. GameStop has decided it will not heed COVID-19-related government recommendations to close retail locations. After health officials across the country have issued orders to have all non-essential physical businesses closed in order to slow the spread of the Coronavirus outbreak, GameStop has instructed its employees to do just the opposite. The struggling national retailer has told its workers to leave stores open and ignore official orders as it has now deemed itself an “essential retail” location. More details below.

After Microsoft published a wide-ranging article on the internal specs of its upcoming Xbox Series X yesterday, Sony has now confirmed more PlayStation 5 details are on the way. Sony took to its official Twitter account this morning to announce that Mark Cerny — the PlayStation 5 lead system architect and Knack director — would host a live stream event on March 18 that will take a deep dive into PS5 “system architecture, and how it will shape the future of games.” More details below.

A new Control expansion has been announced by developer Remedy. Fans of the company’s mind-bending action game should be happy to know more content is on the way in the form of The Foundation — a paid expansion to the base game that appears to be quite a substantial story add-on campaign-like experience. While Remedy mentioned the add-on pack many months ago, it wasn’t entirely clear when it would come to fruition. It doesn’t look there’s going to be an E3 this year. As more and more public events are effected by the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19), including music festivals and the likely possibility of sporting events, E3 2020 has now been canceled. While it does not appear as though the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) — the body responsible for hosting E3 since 1995 — has yet to make an official announcement, the industry’s biggest event of the year is likely to get has now been canceled. But as an increasing number of publishers have been pulling out of E3 in the last few years — Sony hasn’t even shown up since 2018 — the disappointing news doesn’t mean all is lost. SEGA has now officially confirmed a new Panzer Dragoon VR game. The cult-hit SEGA Saturn series is already getting the remake treatment for Nintendo Switch, but it looks the dragon-mounted rail shooter series is jumping into the next dimension soon too. The Final Fantasy VII demo of the PS4 remake is now available for free on PSN. Seemingly popping up out of nowhere very early this morning, Square Enix is now allowing gamers to try their hand at one of the most highly-anticipated remakes ever.
