Sony has now revealed and confirmed the PS VR 2 games releasing at launch (or very close to it). The next month or so is set to be a notable one for PlayStation with the launch of its first ever pro-grade controller, the DualSense Edge, next week and the next-generation PlayStation VR 2 headset and controller coming in February. The world premiere for the next Mario movie trailer is scheduled to go live later today. Nintendo took to its official Twitter feed yesterday evening during the Cyber Monday festivities with the announcement, with a new Nintendo Direct presentation set for broadcast later this afternoon at 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET. PlayStation 5 Black Friday deals just simply aren’t a thing. The flagship Sony consoles are still hard to get never mind finding one on sale. They are scheduled to be in-stock for Walmart+ members (the free trial is still available) at 12 noon ET and then potentially again a 7 p.m. ET for everyone else. Update 12/5/22: Xbox has now made it official – new games built for Series X|S will be seeing prices raise to $70 starting next year. Starting in 2023, titles made for Microsoft’s latest consoles, including the likes of Forza Motorsport, Redfall, and Starfield, will launch with a $70 MSRP in the US. Details on other titles and regions will presumably be coming shortly. Here’s what Microsoft had to say about the matter:

This price reflects the content, scale, and technical complexity of these titles…As with all games developed by our teams at Xbox, they will also be available with Game Pass the same day they launch.

It looks like Xbox price increases could be on the way. After Sony officially announced console price hikes in just about every region outside of the US this summer, many wondered whether or not Microsoft would follow suit with the Xbox ecosystem. Sony’s move marked the first time we have seen console price hikes this deep into the hardware cycle, and after recent comments made by CEO of Microsoft Gaming Phil Spender, it looks like Microsoft might not be immune to global inflationary conditions after all. Today will mark the first chance to lock in your pre-order for the PlayStation DualSense Edge, Sony’s new pro-grade controller for PS5.
