Back in February we got a hands-on look at Nintendo’s newest venture, its STEM-focused cardboard accessory kits, Labo. While just about all of the details surrounding the kits were unveiled, Nintendo was still secretive with one of Labo’s most anticipated features, Toy-Con Garage, so we were only able to get a peak at what it would offer. Today, Nintendo has finally showcased what will be possible with Toy-Con Garage.
Nintendo’s Super Mario Run for iOS/Android will soon be available for 50% off. In celebration of Mario Day on March 10th, Nintendo is expected to have a number of events and promotions running. One of which will be the full game unlock for Super Mario Run for 50% off.
Last month we caught our first glimpse of the Dark Horse Super Mario Encyclopedia hardcover book. Spanning the entire history of the series (up until Odyssey that is), the 256-page encyclopedia is filled with information on the series, visuals, concept art, collectible guides and much more.
As we mentioned, Dark Horse has a habit of announcing the special edition version of its products a couple of weeks after the initial debut, much like what we saw with the trilogy of Zelda reference guides and the NES cartridge-style Deluxe edition. Well, as expected, the Limited Edition version of the upcoming Super Mario Encyclopedia book has now been unveiled. And this time, it has a literal trick up its sleeve.
Colorware makes a wide selection of bespoke and custom-painted electronics gear for just about all of your favorite manufacturers, as any avid 9to5Toys reader would know by now. That includes everything from a custom Apple Magic Mouse and Keyboard to PlayStation 4 covers, Bose headphones and even Nintendo Switch gear. Needless to say, there’s a little bit of everything for everyone.
Last summer, Colorware introduced a custom-painted set of Nintendo Switch Joy-Con in limited run. The vintage NES style paint job went over well with customers and now the company is tapping into that vintage aesthetic once again for the new Limited Edition 8-bit designs…
Following early January’s unveil of the latest games DLC Nintendo would be bringing to its consoles, the company also launched a surprising new accessory to the Switch. Nintendo Labo — a series of cardboard add-ons meant to emphasize DIY creations — was debuted to a lot of skepticism, but after finally getting our hands on the unique new system, we can say it’s worth more than the cardboard it’s printed on.
Publisher Dark Horse and the folks over at Nintendo have been quite successful with the trilogy of Zelda reference guides. The Zelda Encyclopedia features hundreds of pages detailing the titular hero, the princess of time and Hyrule itself through the ages. Needless to say, it is a must-own for hardcore Legend of Zelda fans and now it looks like Super Mario and friends will be getting the same treatment.
While Nintendo has thus far done a great job supporting Switch with excellent first party titles, we are always on the hunt for new and interesting experiences to fill out our libraries. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey have propelled the latest hybrid Nintendo console to new heights. However, it’s the smaller, sometimes indie titles that keep us occupied in between releases of Nintendo’s juggernaut franchises. So we were certainly excited when new details on the upcoming new Monster Boy game hit Twitter this morning.
The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild released in March of 2017 as a launch game for Nintendo Switch. It quickly became one of the highest rated games of all time and is widely considered to be one the best games Nintendo (or anyone for that matter) has ever made.
Players are still searching every corner of the map to find new secrets, max-out their character builds and more. While it can be hard to say goodbye to these experiences once we have completely exhausted the content within, one Zelda player has thought of a very interesting way to immortalize their time in Hyrule…
It has been a big week for Nintendo and the Switch. Kicking off with an astounding sales report and details about its Switch Online service, now Nintendo has closed out the week by showing off some more details on one of its latest ventures. Back in January, Labo launched to a surprising reception. And with what may very well turn out to be one of the more creative uses, the newly teased Toy-Con Garage lets you create your very own cardboard accessories and more.
If you somehow haven’t heard, the Nintendo Switch has launched to be one of the fastest selling and acclaimed consoles in recent years. But for all its feats, the Switch has lacked something that just about every other recent console shipped with, a robust online gaming network. While we’ve known one for the Nintendo’s latest was on the way, last night the company finally announced that its highly anticipated online service would finally be launching later this year in September.
The Nintendo Switch is a modern marvel. If you’re looking for a fantastic gaming console that has both portability and fun at its forefront, then the Switch should be your first choice. This isn’t a review of the Switch, however. Today we’re going to be talking about one of its shortcomings and how to fix it: storage.
Nintendo Switch was arguably the hottest release of 2017, with gamers new and old flocking to the beloved manufacturer’s latest console. Fast forward to today, and Nintendo is tapping into a whole new way of enjoying its handheld system.
Today’s fresh approach is called Nintendo Labo, and it features a DIY system of cardboard accessories that can transform Switch into a wide range of neat projects. That includes everything from a robot suit, to piano, fishing rod and more. Combining Switch’s Joy-Con controllers with these cardboard builds opens up a whole new range of mini-games. Nintendo is hoping to tap into the ever-expanding ‘maker’ culture while also bringing a tactile, real-life experience to kids.
Nintendo had a record-breaking 2017 with major new hardware releases and some of the highest rated first-party titles in history. The hybrid Switch console was apparently the highest selling home video game console in U.S. history in its first 10 months on the market, and we all know how fast the SNES Classic Edition flew off store shelves. But the company’s best-in-class handheld division has been pretty busy as well. We saw the new Zelda 2DS for Black Friday, the Poké Ball Edition 2DS XL and the Super Nintendo-themed 3DS handheld, just to name a few. To sum it up, Nintendo has been on fire lately.

Like with most Mario titles, fans just couldn’t get enough of the original DS action and have taken it upon themselves to create a bunch of new levels and worlds for the game…
